Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

I sware I need to find what im doing thats putting off this aura of a straight nice guy.

Last nite a buddy of mine and I were going to a salsa dance class to get the basics under his belt. What I didnt plan for was him bringing his cousin who is really shy but otherwise much hotter than I expected.
I just played it cool. Introduced myself when we met and we all jumped into my car to make the class.
We talked about the usual stuff, where she from, what school, what classes, etc. I try to build some rapport but she is shy so getting her to hold a conversation wasnt going to work, pluss my buddy wouldnt stop bringing up computer and car topics as to lure me into nerd zone. I tried to stay out of it best I could but he wouldnt shutup so I just kept quiet most of the time.

We get to the class, learn how to dance. (Beginner class for them, im in the advanced level but didnt go to that that night)
My buddy gets a bit better but his Cousin was a good follow and fun to dance with. I spun her around enough to show her I know what im doing. Compaired to anyone in there but the teacher I was the bob :D
Nite ends and we grab a shake. Talk about stuff still and end with me takin them to their car.

Everything goes smoothly (Considering I was extremely tired from the last few nights due to homework. Im about 1/2 zombie but i tried not to show it)

Then later im on aim and my buddy says "She thought you would be a good friend"
And that I was a "Nice Guy"

Shiat blew it again somewhere.
She has never had a BF so she wouldnt know what she wants but still. I get friend zoned by the super shy girls without trying.

I really think part of it is my lack of sleep. When im awake I can be more unpredictiable and funny because I dont have to think. I can just be myself more natrually. Its like Sleep = Energy = Confidence
I have a hard time looking a woman in the eye without staring if i dont have energy. Its not confidence per sey but it takes energy for me to lock with such beautiful eyes.

But still I treat women with respect, dont talk about crap they arent interested in, and bam, Nice Guyed again.
I dont know how I could have changed it up unless he wasnt there. Im not going to kino his cousin with him 2ft away.

Heck I just met the guy last saturday lol. (and once i think last new years)

Maby their still is hope if i talk to her on aim a bit later on.
Im going to add her down the road a day or 2 so as to not look desperate. Im persistant but not desperate. I just hate being nice guyed faster that light. If she thinks this that quickly im doomed already on the other women i havent date closed yet.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

When a shy girl tells you you would make a good friend it doesn't necessarily mean you are in friend zone. I think she just let you know through your friend that she's open for further contact - if she was really shy that is.

Does she think you went to the salsa class as a way to meet women? You may be putting off neediness vibes. I'd suggest going out salsa dancing with a different girl, and then casually mentioning it to your friend's cousin to see how she reacts. Or you can work it in when you ask her out, tell her that the last girl stepped on your feet, and tease her about how she had better not step on your feet, too. She'll say she won't, then you tell her that you'd rather she prove it, etc. All of this sets the frame that you don't need her, but you might hang around if she's fun.

No I myself just enjoy salsa dancing itself. Meeting women during it is also great but not as good as an actuall college class. The salsa culture at some of these classes is a tad... odd

Its hard to describe. If i had my dance partner from over the summer there then we could just flow and its so enjoyable that you practly get widthdrawls after not dancing like that for a few weeks. Since ive been without her due to school and work ive really wanted to just jump back into the dancing arena.

We went mainly last night to get the basics under my buddies belt. She knows a little salsa and was game to come I guess.

Edit. 100th post... :littleparty:

Hopefully by 200 ill be crawling with womens. :)

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
