It's also interesting to note that here in Japan, there's a HUGE "hostess bar" industry, where "salarymen" pay huge prices for drinks just to TALK to cute girls.

Back when I had a good job in the USA, and thus some spare disposable income, from time to time I would typically want to go eat at some good restaurants (good, but not TOO good), so if I were able to entice a very attractive woman to go with me, it wouldn't feel so bad.
