CrossFit

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Crossfit is awesome but to much volume, I incorporate a few things from their programs for my clients and myself. Crossfit is definitely keeping the world of fitness exciting and fun.

Bryce,

It's honestly hard for me to explain scientifically.. The best way I can explain it is your body being forced to adapt to insane intensity that is ever changing. CrossFit is circuit training on steroids. The weight loads are not always crazy heavy but the amount of volume you are doing in the amount of time is the sick part. You don't rest either.

One of my favorite Cross Fit workouts is called "Fran".. Its a superset that combines the Thruster (Front squat & shoulder press) with Pullups. The workout is done as prescribed with 95lb barbell for your Thrusters, and bodyweight pullups. It goes 21 reps of each, 15 of each, and 9 of each. This is done back to back, etc.. with no rest. The workout itself takes about 5-8 minutes but the smoke factor is insane..

I have been lifting weights seriously since 2003, and over time, its just hard to keep it fresh, but CrossFit allows me to do that. I still bodybuild, but its more like do 1 or 2 crossfit workouts, then finish off body with light weights. When I returned from Afghanistan I was up to about 220lbs and just was not in good shape (lack of cardio and crappy food).. but now 7 weeks later I have shed 30lbs and am getting back to my normal weight and definition..

Check it out .. www.crossfit.com or search crossfit on youtube..

Don't knock it til you try it

I do it from time to time to mix things up. I do the rosstraining workouts which incorporate the tabata intervals, quite similar in concept. For those that are bodybuilders, shut up.

I doubt anyone here is going to try it, most of the guys on here are bodybuilders.
I wouldn't say bodybuilders.. Perhaps a cross between powerlifter/bodybuilder.

The whole purpose of that is to build a decent foundation of strength and stability so you can do whatever it is you'd like to do, without poor conditioning or lack of strength playing a part.

If it were up to me I'd like everybody here interested in athletics to follow a solid strength building routine for 18-24 months before considering what direction to go in, be it bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, sports, track, or just for fun.

I'll try a crossfit program next time I decide to shed some lbs, or for a break from the norm.

right on quicksilver.. thats pretty much how I got started with it. It is good for me because I need to be quick and light on feet and at same time have some mass.. so it works for me.

To each their own though. As long as you are moving weight, whether it be your body weight or weights, and eating properly, results will come.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

I like the concept of what crossfit offers...but I modify it to be able to incorporate it into my existing programs. I don't think I have the conditioning or muscular endurance to do a "pure" crossfit type work out.

Example of what I did yesterday:

On my back chest day after, cleans, incline press and dumbell rows, I did a circuit where I tried to get 25 pull ups (only got 23 first go and 18 second), then 20-30 push ups and then 5/side one leg ATG squats w/ bodywt.

Its a good change up from regular training, and I will be doing more stuff like that on conditioning days!

Airborne, check out NavySeals.com for a military based version of the crossfit WOD. It's the same type workout, with a little more focus on endurance. Should be right up your alley, considering your screen name.
