"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Alright guys, I'm new here. I've been reading through the DJ bible and have even committed to my first week of boot camp (don't know if I'm gonna make it, chicks in LA seem to annoy the CRAP out of me).

Well so anyways, tonight... ahh what a crappy string of events. I went up to Sherman Oaks to take my best friend's girlfriend Jen to a party at my good friend Carl's house. Let me clear something up really quick... I have no interest for Jen. She is probably a HB8 by most standards, but to me she is nothing more than a friend because I would never screw over a best friend (or any friend) for a peice of ass.

At the party, there were a couple of guys there when we arrived. A little bit into our evening, one of Carl's friend's girlfriends stops by (hb8). I've met the guy she's dating and he seems cool so I wasn't really worried about making an impression on her, we didn't say a word to each other the entire night.

About an hour before we left, this other couple stops by. Some ***** and her moron of a bf. Sitting there, watching these people converse with every one... made me pretty sick. I didn't feel like talking to any of them. I'm wondering if a setting like this is a good place to practice DJ skills? All the girls in the room were in LTR's and based on their personalities (from what I saw at least)... they didn't even seem worth talking to. Should I have just left and tried to find a more interesting place to spend my Saturday night, or did I miss out on good practice by not conversing with these typical valley girls? It just feels so awkward being the only single person in a room sometimes. Any advice would be appreciated.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

You should practice talking to everyone, and everything when you start. If you are on week 1 of bootcamp, you probably have little, to no DJ skills. Hell, I'm on week4, and my game isn't great (it will be though).
A sign of a great conversationalist is one who can converse with those he most does not want to converse with. Then when you meet someone that is actually interested in what you have to say, or you are interested in what they have to say, it'll be a piece of cake.
IMO, when you are just starting, places where you have little chance to pick up are the best places to start.

I'm just getting so tired of the way my social situation is. All of my friends are in LTR's, and everyone they hang out with is too. Every time I go to a little get together, it's always the same story. And don't get me wrong, I love chilling with friends... but last night just felt so weird. Maybe it's because I was with 2 people I knew really well, and a bunch that I didn't really know at all... and didn't really feel any interest in knowing. Whatever.

As for my ego, it's been pretty bruised and non-existant considering the fact that I haven't hooked up with anyone in 5 months since my last relationship ended (not by my choice).
