"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

This one goes out to all those great guys who have trouble asserting themselves as a DJ.

This chick on Craigslist got so frustrated of her "nice guy" boyfriend that she rants on and on about it.
The great thing about it is that she dishes out some great advice while doing so. Excellent insight for the aspiring DJ and a great reminder for the veterans too.

Here's the tail end of the rant, do read the rest in the link provided below.

So for the nice guys out there, my advice is this: It's great that you're nice (to an extent), but have some backbone. Don't be a spine donor all your life. When your girl is out of line, say something. Don't let her walk all over you. Occasionally, be a "bad" boy (being bad doesn't translate to abusive or criminal). Say "No" to her sometimes. Raise your voice and be heard. Say something dirty/sexy to her occasionally. Drink a few too many beers and piss out in public.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

the nice guy personality has always been confusing as hell to me. it really makes sense yet it doesn't. recently i just watched a friend get pulverized literally for being a nice guy. it was his 3rd year in university and he got his first girlfriend ever. this guy has a great personality and his sense of humor is stellar. now you always here alot of guys on this forum talk about humor is key in a relationship and it is but don't mix it in with the nice guy persona.

i went on a double date with my woman and his woman a few months ago and all night my woman gushed how nice and sweet he was to her and i just rolled my eyes knowing better. she would ask him to do this and do that and like a lovesick puppydog he did it. then my woman commented she wished i did those things too and i told her thats why your still with me because i don't do everything you ask. i know when to say no. she seemed confused and i said that i give it a month or two and he will be single. and what do you know i was right.

he couldn't figure out why she dumped him. he said he did everything for her. he cried and i felt sorry for him because that was his first girlfriend but he didn't quite understand the dynamics of a relationship. it wounded him so bad that his marks suffered and he couldn't continue his degree and now he is home thinking about what went wrong. i tried telling him throughout his relationship that being a doormat and non challeging would get him dumped and he wouldn't believe....heck he still doesn't believe me. she called him the other day and asked if they could be friends and now he has hopes up that she will get beck together with him. i told him that it's not going to happen and move on but i guess you live and learn.

one question that has plagued me for ages though is...do you ever notice that when your dating a woman and she sees a guy do a nice guy thing for his girlfriend your woman will say i wish you did stuff like that for me or if your dating a girl and you do something nice for your girlfriend and her friends see that and gush ahhh thats so sweet i wish i could meet a man like him....yet when they do meet that guy they get bored and dump him?

my woman said something that stumped me the other day when we were talking about the nice guy syndrome. she said i love it when your a prick to everyone else but me....thats a turn on. women just don't make sense.

Last paragraph was really good.

Smack her ass. Don't ever use the word NICE to describe things, especially sex (okay, that may be a personal pet peeve). Have an interest in at LEAST one sport (or pretend to). Drive 5-10 miles over the speed limit once in awhile. Run an old lady off the road just for kicks (yeah, I'm kidding about this one... just ride her bumper for a few miles). Be aggressive during sex. Take off those damn white socks and Jesus sandals. Grow a goatee for a few weeks. Shave your balls. Stray from your routine and shake things up.
BE A MAN FOR GOD'S SAKE... and the women will fall at your feet.

This is true but you'd be surprised at how often a woman chooses to stay with a "bad boy" over a nice guy if only for the drama he creates. Hey, he sure as hell less boring than a nice guy.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Too often the "nice guy" is confused with the "doormat". There is nothing wrong with being nice, friendly, funny, caring, etc. Those are all qualities I look for in a man. No way would I every want to date a jerk who'll treat me like sh1t.

It's the doormat that causes problems. That women hit the nail on the head. The ideal man has a strong backbone, regularly stands up for himself and his beliefs/ideals, and will say no to his girlfriend. That, essentially, is the "masculinity" women crave. It's not about being macho, it's about having a backbone and keeping it straight.

Take it from me: the typical doormat (often called the "nice guy") is no fun. Sure, he may be a dream for the first few weeks, but women get very tired very fast of being put up on a pedestal and adored from all angles with a doe-eyed slaveboy to take care of her every need.

funny story: My best friend who just started seeing a chick (for a week), we were all hanging out and out of nowhere she says that he is so boring. I was like WTF. And he did nothing about it. He just took some offense to hit and said in a puppy voice, "i cant believe u think im boring". Fcvk that man, what i pvssy i said to myself. If i was ever in his position i would have just took off and left her there (they had plans to go out later that night). Dont ever let a woman put u down, have a backbone and some self respect. I hate admitting this but my friend is a pvssy/afc. I talked to him later and im like "stand up to her" and he never did. Its so sad to watch.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
