vs. Russia of course!
There is no Apple pay in Russia since 2022, prior to March or so 2022, a lot of young people were using their phones to pay everywhere. It was cool. But in any case, nowadays everyone is using their cards to pay -- you rarely see cards sliding, it's a simple touch and pay.
Exactly about touching and paying I want to talk.
In the U.S. terminals suck. It's not touch and pay, it's touch, hold, and pay, or touch hold one way, hold another way, and pay, or all of the above and it sometimes don't work, you see people sliding their cards the old fashioned way. In Russia, it's always works, there is no problems with touch.
Also, I've been to whole bunch of grocery stores, whole bunch of department stores, and other stores, like gas stations. I haven't seen yet, someone using their phone to pay!! This is very strange.
Terminals all look different of course, but these, first one and the last one, are the most popular. Lately the latter one is the most popular.
So what's going on with tapping cards and what's going on with paying with your phone?
