I'm getting to a point in my game where I'm feeling like I'm getting pretty good. More than following any certain "Methods", running any "Routines" or having any smooth tactful moves in my inventory, I've focused on becoming a better person for MYSELF. I've also made some friends with, and watched guys that are naturally good with women, which has helped me out tremendously. One thing I've taken notice of is recently is the kind of humor guys who are good with women use, and the kind of humor guys that aren't good with women use. Girls are always saying they want a guy that can make them laugh. However, I think a lot of guys are taking this idea too far and turning women off.

In my lifetime, I've made friends with some of the funniest guys you could ever meet. These are the kind of guys that would get you rolling on the floor within the first 5 minutes you met them. They always got some (note: SOME) attention from women, which is a lot more than I ever got. But what I didn't realize at the time was that they never hooked up with girls, and they didn't date at all. So back then (when I had NO game whatsoever), my policy was to make women (and people in general) laugh at just about everything I said and did (and I usually could). I can't even count the amount of times girls told me I was "too goofy" or "just a big dork". If they were laughing at everything I said, they had to be attracted to me, right? How wrong I was.

Every girl will tell you she wants a guy that can make her laugh. And YES, THIS IS TRUE. A sense of humor is important, but I think it's a certain kind of humor women are looking for. I think women want a guy who displays a confident sense of humor, rather than a goofy sense of humor. And yes, I think there's a huge difference between a Confident sense of humor and a Goofy sense of humor.

A guy who uses goofy humor does anything for a laugh. He'll put himself down, make fun of himself, or physically abuse himself (just like Jack@ss) to get a laugh. In my high school, there were a lot of kids like this. (I don't know why, but it seemed like all of them either skated, were REALLY scrawny, had long hair (don't ask) or a combination of all three) It's almost like a laugh is the ultimate payment for this kind of guy.

The problem with this is that when you get so focused on making people laugh, you're completely focused on yourself rather than the person in front of you. It seems like if they aren't making you laugh at EVERYTHING they say, they get really nervous and uncomfortable. Sometimes they resort to even more severe forms of self-deprication (physical abuse, etc.) to get a rise out of you. I think the reason they do this is because, at a deep level, they fear the disapproval of other people (and when people aren't laughing they "disapprove") so they make up this histerical character and act it out at all times. And it gets really annoying in the process.

A guy who uses Confident Humor isn't going to be the funniest guy you've ever met. However, the difference between the two is that the guy that uses Confident Humor is not seeking any kind of reaction from anyone else. What he says isn't really funny at all, but HOW he says it is what makes him funny. His vocal tonality, eye contact and posture let others know he is confident in his own skin. He doesn't have to be the center of attention at all times, and people respect him. I think the root of Confident Humor is that this kind of guy is naturally at ease with himself and others, so he doesn't care what others think of him. He says what he wants and doesn't care if people disapprove. ALL the guys that I've known that are good with women (and people in general) have used this kind of humor.

Anyone else noticed this?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

would stand up comedy type humor classify as goofy humor? How bout if the guy is just really funny(dorky is the funniest type of humor) but doesnt have to result to self physical abuse or making himself look like a fool(basically trying too hard) but at the same time doesnt give off the vibe that he's too cool?

A little goofy is fine. Most guys I've seen that are too goofy cross the line where they do whatever people want to get a laugh. It's almost as if you can feel them subtly suck onto your energy. If you laugh, you make them feel good. If you don't, they feel horrible.

I sat with one of the funniest guys I've ever met at dinner tonight. Funny as hell. Goofy as hell. Terrible with chicks.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

goofy humor wont turn any girl on.........it'll just make her laugh at u, but it wont make her wanna kiss u and have ur goofy d1ck inside her

confident humor aka ****Y/FUNNY/SEXUAL kind of humor is the kind that gets the girl laughing saying things like "wow ur so witty, ur such a jerk but ur funny, ooooo kinky, hahahaha omg ur so funny baby!!" - and that turns the girl on

there is a HUGE difference between the 2 types of humor

very VERY good thread, but you should add more to it

alright just to be clear, can you tell the difference between confident and goofy humor? I know for sure that if you gotta go as far as to hurt yourself to make ppl laugh, youre just trying too hard and its not even goofy..

this is what the difference to me is:

GOOFY:
- dorky/stupid yet funny remarks
- immitations
- good acting in general
- high energy or enthusiasm in the jokes

CONFIDENT:
- low enthusiasm
....thats all I could really think of for this one...im pretty sure i can come up with a little more...

and its tough to do until you get the hang of it, but when you do PEOPLE (not women) will tend to gravitate toward you because they realise your a cool dude to be around

I tried to make this thread as long as I could. LOL. It turned out a little shorter than I expected.

The guy I ate dinner last night kept making jokes about how him and his roommate (guy) were going to go home and have sex. At first it was kind of funny, but we were sitting with a group of girls at the same time. I doubt he acts that way when it's just him and his close buddies. All the goofy remarks he made just seemed to turn them off more and more, however, he continued to do it to see if he could get them to laugh. He didn't.

Has anyone ever tried to have a straight conversation with someone like this? It's really tough. It's almost like it's against their moral code to be serious about anything. Personally, I just find this really annoying.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I don't think there's such thing as "confident" humor and that's why you can't describe it.

Chris Farley, Andy Melankis or however you spell his name, are probably not what impress women.

In fact I was thinking about this very thing a few days ago because I realized I need to monitor my sense of humor around women. I think if you just don't have a weird sense of humor, just make jokes that make sense to women without degrading yourself, just make sure your jokes are normal and don't make you sound like a star wars geek, you'll be fine. I don't think there's such thing as "confident" humor and it's another example of making crap up.

I know a guy who used goofy humour in college and quite frankly it just was embarrasing. The girls just found it weird and odd and actually didn't even feel safe around him. Sometimes at best your laughing AT him, at worst your laughing out of sympathy for him.

Girls also go on what other people think too. If because of this the group thinks he's a bit odd or goofy then they will too - maybe it works better one-on-one but I doubt it.

I don't know what you mean by goofy humor really.

I make sly, word twisting one-liner jokes a lot. Also a lot of situational jokes and a lot of teasing. Plenty go over people's heads because they're not smart enough to get it but it's funny to the people who get it. Oh well. For those that don't i brush it off and move on.

I don't do it too often but i have this way of using self-deprecating humor with women that makes them think i'm actually telling them the opposite. I'm not even sure how i do it but for example i insisted to an ex before we slept together that i was teeny tiny endowed but she would say "i bet you're huge." I guess i say it with like a twinkle in the eye or they just see my self confidence where they just know i'm full of crap if i self deprecate.

Also, is this goofy humor?

I did the following shortly ago in txts to a girl.

me: "hey i'm going to be at so and so tonight at 9 you should come and get a prize."

..no reply for a few min.. what the hell i'm bored so i send another one.

me: "oh mrRuckus that sounds great i cant wait to come have fun with you you are always a good time and so handsome and sexy too i dont know how i can control myself"

me: "oh stop you are embarrassing me! glad you're gonna make it though!"

i get a reply back...
"you are so weird."
me: "no i'm intriguing"
her: "i'll give you that."
me: "no thanks i'll just take what i want"

etc

Is that goofy humor?? If that's considered goofy i've never had a problem with it attracting women. Girls always laugh at my antics... and then make out with me. Of course I do throw sexual humor in too. I guess this is one of those in moderation thingies?

No that sounds like ****y/confident humour to me. Even self deprecating humour can be confident as it can be a) meant to mean the opposite or b) it shows you don't give a **** about her oppinion (this one is dangerous though because her oppionion does matter and although it might be funny, she might also agree with you). Both are signs of confidence although i wouldn't use the last one and even the first can come across as arrogant especially if it's not true.

I don't really know how to explain it any other way than I did. If you're goofy and it works for you, I won't stand in your way. You're obviously doing something right if they're making out with you.

This is by no means a "technique". I don't go out on the weekends and lay "Confident Humor" on chicks. I've just noticed that a lot of guys that are overly goofy get nowhere with girls, even though they like to think they are. I don't know where this "do anything to get a laugh" trend came from but I see it all the time.

Andy Milonakis is such a d0uche bag. LOL!
