"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hi..
I'm 24 and I'm having a bit of a confidence problem.
I was away for many years for school and temporarily moved back to live with my family. I will start working in a few weeks.

My confidence has been affected because I don't have a job yet. When I talk to women I feel uncomfortable telling them I'm not working yet even though I will be eventually.

How would you deal with this?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

If the whole fact that you don't have a job is ruining your confidence, then simply get off your butt and apply for jobs!

Think about it:

If you're hungry and you have food in the refridgerator, then you need to get up and walk to the kitchen and fix yourself some food to satisfy your hunger.

Likewise, if you want a job and you have opportunities to get one in a mall, store, theater, office, etc etc. The possibilities are as wide as the horizon.

PS: If talking to women seems like a problem to you, whether it's due to lack of confidence or undeveloped social skills, I say apply for a job at a restaurant...like Denny's, IHOP, California Pizza Kitchen, etc. You will meet a LOT of people, and you'll definitely meet some hot women along the way. Because you're required to talk to them, you get many opportunities to use ****y/Funny on them. Afterall, it IS your job to talk to the customers.

I have a job offer but it only starts in a couple of weeks.

The problem is not my social skills. It's the fact that I've been looking for a while (In my technical field) and my confidence has been down ever since.
