OK, I don't understand this.

Russell Brand is an actor and comedian, tall (6'2), rich (net worth $20,000,000) has great hair, has a 10 year daughter, previously married to Katy Perry when she was 26. He just got convicted of rape and sexual assaults.

For someone who has it all, height, hair, money, fame, looks, and a daughter, he has to rape woman and sexual assault them to get sex? This can't be about sex. Even if wants it all the time, this can't be about sex.

If this was an short incel who had little money and was angry hot girls in their 20s were rejecting him constantly, you could understand it on some level. But Russell Brand, who has everything Sosuave preaches a man should have AND game? There is something else going on here.

Why does Russell Brand need to rape and sexually assault women to get sex?

(The article is below)

------------------------------------------------

Comedian Russell Brand, once one of Britain's most high-profile broadcasters and star of several Hollywood movies, faces a lengthy jail term after being convicted in a London court on Thursday of raping a woman and sexually assaulting three more.
Prosecutors said Brand, the former husband of US pop singer Katy Perry, was ‌obsessed with sex and used women to satisfy his own desires. One victim said he treated her "like an animal".

Funny and charming when he wanted to be, but also ruthless, calculating and manipulative, the 51-year-old, who starred in "Get Him to the Greek" and "Arthur", was interested only in getting what he wanted from women, prosecutors told jurors at Southwark Crown Court.
"The evidence showed Brand to be a calculated sexual predator, using his growing fame and power to create situations in which he could pursue women sexually, regardless of what they wanted," senior Crown prosecutor David Roberts said outside court.
Brand now faces jail and potentially further action as police said he was still under investigation for two other alleged rapes, one involving a then 16-year-old girl.

BRAND DENIED THE CHARGES

Brand, known for his loquacious manner and flamboyant appearance, had denied all the charges and ever having non-consensual sex, saying the incidents, which dated back more than 20 years, had either been consensual, reinvented or re-imagined. He acknowledged in evidence he had dedicated a lot of his life to "reckless philandering and idiocy" but said sexual consent was fundamental. But, following a four-week trial, the jury found him guilty of rape and three sexual assaults committed between 2004 and 2009. He was acquitted of two other rape charges and an attempted indecent assault. Judge Joel Bennathan said Brand, who was refused bail, would be sentenced on Monday and faced a lengthy prison term. Brand is one of the most prominent celebrities in Britain convicted of sex offences in recent times, after BBC newsreader Huw Edwards admitted making indecent pictures of children two years ago, and entertainer Rolf Harris was found guilty of assaulting young girls in 2014.

The case has again raised questions about how the entertainment industry deals with complaints about its stars and Detective Inspector Laura Nelson, who headed the investigation, said she expected other women to come forward. "I think there are other victims out there and if they want to report that to us, then we'll of course take it seriously," she told Reuters.

COMPLAINANTS DESCRIBED MANIACAL DEMEANOUR

Prosecutors had said Brand's offending spanned the years in which he rose from performing stand-up comedy in small venues to becoming a television presenter and Hollywood film star. The court heard tearful and forceful testimony from ‌the six complainants, who are all entitled to lifelong anonymity.
None of the women knew one another but all came forward to police in the wake of a TV documentary and press reports in 2023 in which other women made separate allegations against Brand. Those women were not involved in this criminal trial. Giving evidence, the complainants described a sudden change in Brand's demeanour during their encounters, saying he became wide-eyed and maniacal. One woman said that less than a minute after she met him at a party in a bar, he had grabbed her breasts. Another victim, a self-described fan of Brand, said she had gone to his home for consensual sex but he had then removed a condom and anally raped her. Afterwards, he had ordered her to clear up the bloody mess on the sheets.

WITNESS SAID HE WANTED TO SLEEP WITH 5,000 WOMEN

Throughout his career, Brand has been open about his battles with drugs and sex addiction, writing about both in his 2007 autobiography "My Booky Wook".
One witness, a former friend with whom Brand later lived, told the court Brand had bragged he wanted to sleep with 5,000 women. Brand's former personal assistant, Helen Berger, who worked for him from 2006 to 2007, said he had "an insane sexual appetite".
"He never seemed happy after sex, more so depressed," she said in a witness statement.

POLICE SAY CONVICTION SENDS CLEAR MESSAGE

Brand rose to prominence in Britain hosting a spin-off show to "Big Brother" on Channel 4. During the 2000s, he became a regular fixture on television and radio, and went on to star in a number of films. In 2010 he married Perry, a relationship that, he told the court, brought him "staggering fame". The marriage ended after 14 months. Nelson said Perry had not been approached as a potential witness, but said she could always come to police if she had any information. In subsequent years, Brand moved away from mainstream TV and film work, and built a large social media following as an anti-establishment commentator, discussing politics, spirituality and religion. He was baptised as a Christian in 2024, after the allegations first became public.
"I hope this conviction sends a clear message that no one is above the law, no matter how famous or powerful they may be," Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy from London police said.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I don't know anything about this story, and I'm not even sure what exactly he did. So having said that, I'm thinking that his celebrity had given him a sense of entitlement that led to some of these behaviors. There is a certain amount of push and resist involved in some forms of sexual activity (like a girl acting hard to get). Or perhaps he got off on being sexually aggressive. This is assuming he's actually guilty, of course.

UK was a different country back then, maybe not "anything goes" but still drenched in lad and ladette culture. Girls would throw themselves at celebs, and the celebs would take advantage.

Brand went too far.

The bigger surprise is actually that more celebs from the previous century haven't been jailed for all sorts too. Some from the 1960s and 1970s must have a bout of fear every time these cases come back around...

To OP; you're baffled that a man uses POWER to get SEX? Yiu dint understand that a mere groupie isn't exiting to him anymore? He is a nutcase, thinking he stood above the law. I hope he rots away in jail.

I have know idea why he did it, but I do know some guys that enjoy exerting power and control over others. That's what they get off on and why they do it. I knew a guy that sourced his wife out for group sex as well as online chatrooms. He told me he got off on the power.

Sex is often more mental than physical.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Im baffled a man who has everything Sosuave says a man should have and more and can get any women he wants has to hold women down and tear their clothes off when they are uncomfortable and say “no” to get sex.

^^Interesting comment. I read Neil Strauss experienced depression as well tied directly to his years as a successful PUA.

Brand turned his life around, he has a beautiful wife and children now..

Sentencing Monday. I wonder how much times he'll get.

@BadBoy89 "he has great hair..."

Not unless we're now also mistaking Milla Jovovich for "busty", and The Ndrangheta for "honorable men". If Brand's legal defense was even 1/8th as inept as his stab at damage control pre-trial...

Well, the verdict here is less surprising than learning The Feds are robbing citizens a few hundred times per week, then whitewashing their crimes as "assest forfeiture"

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
