Comcast Sucks

I am seriously pissed off at comcast, it promises "Fast Speed Internet Connection" that's faster than DSL but the truth is it doesn't. It's so unreliable the speed of my internet connection changes every month. One month I'll be getting 1MB/Sec and in other months I get 20 kps which is around modem speed. It's starting to really piss me off when the internet is slow I can't even play streaming videos or webcams on MSN! I tried customer service but they haven't called or emailed me back in... 3 months! Is anyone else having this problem with Comcast? I'm really sick and tired of paying and expecting fast internet and getting slower than modem speed. :box:

Almost forgot I went to their site to report my problem with the speed and they told me I needed an account and login to post... but I never got an account and they always put me on hold when I call... this is seriously BS like AOL! AOL is a b*tch too I try to delete their program from my computer but it won't let me! the setup ALWAYS crashes when I try to uninstall.

The way cable modems work is the more people in your block use it, the slower it goes. You'll commonly find that it works faster in the hours when most people are asleep or at work, and really slow between 6-10.

I know I know they told me that 1000 times but I live in a small town my neighbor is 40 feet away! I even woke up at 3 a.m. and tried it but NO I still get slower than modem speed. This is a fraud they are false advertising they aren't meeting consumer expectations or demands! they're consumer support is horrible and the last time I seeked help they fowarded my call to some Indian operator who barely spoke English.

The other thing that pisses me off is how other ppl in the household don't have any problems with connection. Well they sometimes do but not as often!

Cable modem delivering high speed internet better than DSL? This must be one of the best scams right now...

Cable system is designed to deliver the same information to every one, definitely not suited for delivering different things to different people. As many have said already, different people share the same pipe as opposed to DSL that gives you your own pipe. Plus cable signal is very prone to electromagnetic noise, the performance can vary greatly depending on the environment.

Last but not the least, who said that it's because it's 3:00am that people are not using the net? They might be downloading 24/7 using Bittorent or eMule. Most cable companies are not telco specialists, they offer the internet thing as a bait/plus to attract more cable business. Their internet network is usually under-sized and has unsufficient bandwidth, thus they resort to bandwidth capping a lot although they don't tell you that.

Comcast or not, it's the same story/fraud with the cable companies all around the world. Except maybe in Japan and South Korea where they are already using FTTH (fiber to the home) with speed up to 50-100 mbits.

Say NO to Internet through the cable!!! Well if you have other options of course...

Are they using the same company? Sounds like your computer's to blame, not the cable company.
