Cold sores.

Does anyone else get these? I rarely get them on my lips, but i get them under my nose and they are annoying and make me feel really crappy ( i can't make eye contact without feeling like everyone is staring at it )


What do you guys use for remedies? Any homemade remedies? I hear using Alcohol wipes will dry it up, and then applying yogurt will help. Any tips?

Go buy some abreva and put it on the cold sore. It will clear up in 2-3 days with it if you treat it right away.

Yeah man there's a cream called Denavir available by script if you've got health insurance. For preventative measures, there are scripts for pills that'll reduce frequency and duration of them.

Cold sores suck, and the worst is doing the responsible thing by telling ppl that you get them. btw are you aware that cold sores are Herpes Simplex I and are an STD?

im pretty sure they aren't STD's. However, im not even sure if they're cold sores anymore. i was looking up pictures of cold sores and they look nothing like it. infact, they look just like pimples, except they appear around my mouth.

If Abreva makes them go away faster, then they're herpes. There's a test for it. Go to the doctor and request a blood test for herpes if you actually want to know.

There's no such thing as a "cold sore". You have herpes.

Yes, it is herpes, who cares? In North America, you have like a 90% chance of getting it by the time you are 50. It stays with you for life, but most people, myself included, only get a cold sore once every couple years. Oh and they can be considered STDs. It is possible to transfer oral herpes (Type 1) to the genitalia of your partner during oral sex during an outbreak, but not vice versa. In fact, in some countries, Type 1 is the more common form of genital herpes with Type 2 being the minority. In the West, the Type 2 herpes is the most common form of genital herpes.
