I've recently begun to utilize my dj skills enough to get number closes. w00t! No fake #s yet, thats good. But, theres always a but, i've gotten roughly 6 #s recently, and I can get a hold of them, but so far every time i've tried to set up a date with a chic she always comes up with some unavoidable reason, wheter it be work, or out of town or whatever. Anyone else have problems going from the # to an actual date? Could just be me, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

It might be her way of saying no without being direct.
Example:
You: Lets go here at such and such day and time.
Her: Can't I have work, sorry.
This is a rejection, and shows little interest.
You: Same question again.
Her: Can't I have work but lets do this at such and such a time.
Shows interest because she honestly wants to do something.
You have 6 numbers, now go out and collect 6 more and call them, if nothing keep at it. Don't waste your time trying to pin a girl down just for a date.

Guys, consider this. What exactly is your goal? Is it just to get a telephone number or is it to see her again in a different setting (a date)?
If you want a date with her, why waste time half stepping by just getting her telephone number? You must have determined that she has a high enough interest level, why BS with just a telephone number?
When talking with her why not say that you're doing whatever on a certain day and you'd like for her to come along. When she accepts then get her telephone number. It's just that simple.

If it consists of a minute or two banter then "got to go, give me your number", consider chatting for longer and letting her get comfortable with you. It will increase the chance of her wanting to see you again.
A lot of times girls give their number out because they don't want to say no etc.
That said, if you like playing the statistics, get as many as you can however you like and some will eventually accept.

1. Forget about how long you talk with her. That will change from person to person and your particular style.
2. Forget about statistics. More isn't necessarly better. It's all about quality.
What matters is how well you go about increasing her interest level. Understand that your ability to do that also requires that she is receptive to you. You need to be able to accurately qualify first then raise her IL.

Hmmm, let's put it this way gentlemen, it's easier to get INTO a relationship once you've fu cked a girl VERSUS fu cking a girl AFTER you've been in relationship with her (ie friendzone).
If you're asking for the #s straight out, you're not gonna get a lot of positive responses. They're gonna be afraid and confused, and you won't be able to come off as a challenge cause you have to get the # within minutes of meeting her.
On the other hand, you spend minimal effort (investment) in getting the #, so sooner or later you're gonna meet someone who wants to meet you.

Do you have anything to actually add to the discussion? Try to understand the context of what people are saying before trying to oppose it.
1. If you go round hitting up girls for numbers and with cold approaches and spend only 1 minute from open to close, the chances of developing enough rapport (or as you like to say "Interest Level") are low. FACT. That's the context of my original comment.
2. Statistics are that if you ask enough girls out, some will say yes. That's just statistics. FACT. I didn't say it was better, I told the guy that's what the statistics are.

Also when she tells you that she can't because she has work or something else to do, then ask her when she can hang out.
