If a guy decides to get married by church only, is he still liable for all the financial nonsense that marriages typically include?

Let's say you go to another country and have a lovely wedding there then move back to america and never get married by the state so there are no records of your marriage. Are you still on the hook for all the typical support and sacrifice of your funds?

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

If your marriage is legally recognized by your country then yes. IE : Married in Germany is recognized as legally married in the US.

In short, it depends. A lot of arguments can be made that if you got married in the eyes or the church, you're practically married. I would be safe and neither get married by the church nor behave as if you're married.

If you live together with her and have any forms of joint accounts with her (e.g., phone bills, both on the same car insurance policy) you may be considered married depending on your state. That is, even if you are NOT married but BEHAVE as if you were married (which is very likely to happen if you get married by the church, as your psychology would change) she can be granted all rights and privileges as if she you were legally married (e.g., half of your assets and income earned during the cohabitation, elegible for Sousa support, etc.).

It's called "de facto marriage" (a.k.a., common law marriage, informal marriage, marriage in fact) and it all depends on wether your state recognizes it.

Here is more info: https://definitions.uslegal.com/d/de-facto-marriage/

These are the states that recognize it:

Are you sure? Is that new? I haven't dealt with immigration in 20 years, but it did not used to be that way.

If you get married abroad and need to know if your marriage will be recognized in the United States and what documentation may be needed, contact the office of the Attorney General of your state of residence in the United States.

No docs...No c0cks

Yay!:p

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Dépends on your country/state/district.

In my country, you "income tax" married if living under the same roof for more than 1 year.... but unless its à "civil-religious" wedding... you can Split and have no conséquences.

If you have a kid, you automatically married financially and civil. (the mother might get nothing, but you provide for the kids)

Etc...

However, we recognize "other state" marriage. Means if you married in cuba, you have to respect cuba marriage laws. And you have to certificate your union in the homecountry (so to abid your own country laws), otherwise.. you stick to that country.. you from canada, married in Las Vegas, never "submit" your wedding certificate to canada.... so if you divorce.. well LasVegas laws can apply. Etc...

Most countries will force you to submit your wedding certificate to officialize it in their home records.

I am in Quebec, we have 4 types of union/wedding llol

The embassy can't preform the marriage yes but for instance if you got married here in canada on vacation then retured to the US. Your marriage would still be legally recognised by the American government

Kinda crazy. So you can walk into a church in some other country get married and that's legal enough for it to be recognized in another country?! Insane how easy the state will give away your assets to a female. I'm not living in a common law state. Don't they have to get proof of the wedding? What if there is no proof or document? Kinda hard to believe, major free ride ticket here for women.

I has to be documented, to hold up in court, if someone wants to sue you. Otherwise there's no evidence. She just LOOKS like your girlfriend.

There is a reason thousands of marriages have to be annulled every year. Too many drunken idiots saying "hey lets go to vegas and get married by elvis." Then the next few weeks later saying "wait, that is considered a real marriage?"

I heard of non-legal marriages happening. I think they are called "Civil Unions"?...or is that still legal stuff? I just recall seeing this video of a minister practicing a ceremony at someone's home (not church). They left out ANY pooling of finances, so it looks like it was a marriage in ceremony only.

Believe it or not, I've known people who were technically boyfriend and girlfriend call each other "husband" and "wife". I recall knowing someone that wasn't married to their g/f, I think I was working customer support, and he referred to his g/f as his "wife". Even though they technically were not spouses.

Our country called them civil unions when the lgbt comunity wanted to get "married " but the country didn't recognize marriage that wasn't man and woman so they callled it a civil union

Now they recognize it and call it marriage too.
