"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

so xmas is coming up and i was thinking of getting the girl ive been seeing a gift. heres a brief history of us:

we met off the internet and have seen each otehr 3 times in the last month and we've kissed held hands and such. she wants to date me but not now cause shes busy and has other issues.

since we've been talking online we have some kind of funny gag where i tell her im a stalker (im not), and im gonna take her to a dark alley and comb her hair and brush her teeth. ... yes its stupid and retarded but its one of those silly inside jokes between us so dont ask :)

anyway, as a joke i wanted to get her a comb and toothbrush for xmas. so its not a serious gift but something that SHOULd get a chuckle out of her

good idea? or bad? keep in mind we're not dating and we've only known each other in person for a month now

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

get her one of these:

www.shewee.com

ha ha lol. womens' peeing problems are solved.

If you're wondering how I found this, I saw it on the tv ok.

seriously though,

"Just call her on Xmas Day and wish her a Merry Xmas!!"

is good advice.

"she wants to date me but not now cause shes busy and has other issues." - that's a worrying sign if you ask me. I'd say you need to back off slightly and make sure she doesn't see you as "in the bag". Don't chase her, dont act needy and you're golden my friend.

good luck.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I've done the same with the girl I'm seeing and just got a small gift that relates to one of our inside jokes.

I certainly wouldn't suggest a serious gift anyway.

This fool's shallow.

But don't go all out either. Just get her something simple. Like a card or something "you" make.
maybe..maybe not.

check the post penkitten mentioned.

A card would be nice, or something from an inside joke as mentioned already.

Another possiblity, as already hinted out is something you could make. I personally am a sculptor and I enjoy working with wood, so I am making my gift to one of my parents out of wood.

You should consider making something, no matter how simple.

Worst case scenario though, just call her.
