Changing profile email address

I just changed my email address in my profile and I had no idea that I had to respond to an auto generated email confirming the address. By luck I checked my email and there it was.

The problem is that I had tried to reply to forum posts and I got a message alluding that my account may have been deactivated or was waiting for authorization. Those messages led me to believe that a moderator had to do something to my account.

A suggestion is letting users know in no uncertain terms when they change things that need verification that THEY need to do something. I was going to send a note to one of the mods asking if I had pissed someone off thus someone locked my account. It's not as if I would intentionally piss someone off...

I always thought that when you changed your email address, the screen said "a confirmation email has been sent to your new address," or something like that.

Guess it should now since a lot of people seem to change their addresses, then not answer the email and wonder why they are seemingly banned.

I just changed it again and a message did pop up but very briefly (just a second or two) before automatically advancing to the next page. I did see the word email somewhere in the message but that was because my eyes caught it because you said that the message mentions it. I guess it would help if you guys could set it so that a button could be pressed to advance to the next page.

is true i just changed my email and i thought my account was suspended or something ....i guess that would be a great idea. u guys should change the pop up window for more than 2 seconds...is confusing
