Cellphone Questions

I'm thinking about getting a new cellphone. I have a very cheap plan through AT&T that I want to keep. I know I can go to Wal-Mart and get me the appropriate phone and keep the plan. If I do this, will my old phone still work?

I have a football ticket in my Google Digital Wallet on my old phone. Will I still be able to access it on the new phone? On the old phone? Do you have to be "logged in" to use Google Wallet?

The other thing is less important, but something I've considered. If I get a better quality phone, can I still keep my old cheap, crappy plan? Or is each phone tied to its own plan somehow?
