Cartilage Piercings

Im thinking about getting my right ear cartilage pierced in the near future. I already have 2 piercings and they're both on my left earlobe(the second is right above it) and they're studs. What do you guys think about cartilage piercings?? What kind should I get: hoop, stud, industrial?

I got one for a while, it got infected a few times, chicks said it was cool, I ended up taking out all my piercings because I didn't want them to get ripped out in boxing or mma training. I had a ring about 16g I think in my top cartilage. I have always liked your sig by the way.

How long did it take for it to heal? And how long did it take for the pain to go away? thanks btw.

I got my ear pierced (the lobe), you're supposed to keep the initial piercing in your ear, and you need to put alcohol or something to clean your ear out, on your fresh piercing to avoid infection. It took about two months till I could wear earrings only when I wanted.

When you play sports, put tape over the place where it was pierced when you have your first piercing done.

Once you take your "starter piercing" out, make sure you put an earring in every day, because it will originally heal fast.

It hurt worse than a normal piercing, but it healed up quickly but like I said it would get infected sometimes, or if I would sleep on it it would hurt the next day. It pretty much only hurt right when they pierced it and if I would move it around or adjust it. I never took mine out though until I took it out for good. I think they are cool though, got some compliments from chicks at the time about it.

I've got an... umm... I think it's called an industrial, in my one ear. It's two peircings in the cartilage connected with one bar. Anyway, it took forever to heal, and years and years later I've still got a lump of scar tissue above where it comes out the back.

yep i've got the lump too, it isn't too noticeable though but mine was smaller than the above poster ^
