This isn't realistic in the current economy. This is what is ruining children. If a woman wants to be a mother, she should at the very least be home for the first couple of years of their lives instead of farming it out to a stranger.
First off, more and more women are having babies out of wedlock. Those relationships are unstable and a woman can't be a stay-at-home mom in those situations.
If a woman is fortunate enough to be married when she has her child, her likely beta male husband doesn't make enough money to provide a decent lifestyle for a household with 1-2 kids.
If a woman is married when she has her first child with a man, it is more likely than not she'll be divorced from that man before their first child turns 18. The divorce will likely happen before the first child turns 13. A divorced mother cannot be a stay-at-home mom either.
It's somewhat practical for a woman to work while having children these days. It is better for the child though to have a stay-at-home mom.
