One of my friends has been in Minnesota for over a year now and he says his dating life is much better than it could ever be. I see pics of him on facebook with attractive girls all the time and it makes me a bit envious. Now when my friend was in Atlanta, he was struggling. I noticed that he was rejected quite often and girls would play him too.

Based on what you guys have been through yourselves, do you notice this? Men doing poorly in some areas of the USA but amazing in others?

The south in general is not conducive to dating.

I am from little rock, AR. I mean i got laid once i figured out what i was doing, but it was way harder than it should have to be. I moved to Del Mar / San Diego and my SMV jumped at least 3 points. Girls that were out of my league in little rock were flirting with me here. My wife would not have given me a second look were she from little rock

If you have 3 million worth of property in NYC, and yousell it and you buy a huge ass house in North Carolina for 1/8 that price...yeah...the biznitches will be on your tip.

If you're Joe the Farmer from Iowa and you come to NYC in a new F-350, no one will give a flying rat's ass.

Yeah, location is tied to culture, that's tied to social interaction.

Odd, because you would think that would work in reverse also. I don't know anything about Arkansas, but I'm in the midwest. I would think a successful guy from California moving here would find his SMV had jumped three points.

You're saying there are more single people and more dating options in California though, and that's why the SMV jump. Here in the midwest (and I suppose in Arkansas also) people tend to hook up into couples.

I was going to mention this also. A friend of mine lived in California, sold his house, and moved back here. He was able to get a very nice house locally with that money, because housing is way, way cheaper here.

I grew up in the South-ish and had a similar experiences with the women. I was (almost) completely invisible to women until I got status, but its still REALLY hard there. Like I can get numbers but I can't have a conversation. I do better with Northern women. In some areas the women absolutely worship ignorance.

I think the South is good if you're white(r). More quality women, my brother is KILLING it there.

I mean, even if you're white, yeah it's fine when you are in HS / college but the second you get out of college everyone worth a **** is either engaged or having babies or both. There just aren't options. If you don't get off the ferris wheel when you are in your early 20's you are behind the 8 ball in the south. and if you had your head in the books girls as you say, were too busy worshiping ignorance.

Because there aren't options, 5's thinks they are 8's, 6's think they are 9's and 8's and **** are beyond reproach. my oneitis who is very good looking, is an avg attractive chick out here in LA. i would not have given her a second thought had i lived out in LA and she treated me the way she did. Better yet she would not have treated me the way she did if we lived in LA because there are too many other options and i wasn't a bad dude.

Generally, red states aren't good for dating. Generally. You want to be in more liberal areas of the country when it comes to dating, hooking up, not being pressured tob e married. women in LA are more cool to social dating in their late 20's / 30's then women from say, Oxford, Mississippi. especially if you are not white.

I would say white guys have it easier in the south, but neither have it great. I don't mean that in a whiny way but it's just the way it is. girls aren't going to be all that keen to take a black dude home to mom or show a black dude or asian dude off to her friends. in LA no one gives a **** lol.

Now that I"m married I could see myself moving back to the south, not Arkansas, maybe Lexington. We've talked about it. The only thing is I want my son to grow up in a racially diverse area because he's bi-racial. I don't want him growing up in the south where he will be looked at funny. If it weren't for that i'd sale my house, move to a house just as nice in lexington for 1/3rd of the cost and pocket the money

In some areas the women absolutely worship ignorance.

Ya the racism in the south with dating is terrible. Most hot Southern Belles would not even go for a Mediterranean looking dude and those kinds of guys are known for doing well worldwide. If you don't have the WASPy or Northern European looks, you are mostly screwed but I have seen some Asian and Brown (Middle Eastern and South Asian) men who were able to do well for themselves by going into Greek Life. What people don't understand about the South is that it is very cliquish compared to other regions. People finish high school and college and usually only stick close with those friends.

My friend I was talking about in the OP looks like the dude who played the Safety in the movie Friday Night Lights (the Latino guy in the movie). He has been told he is good looking a few times but he had absolutely no luck with the Southern Belles in Atlanta. The second he goes to Minnesota he has women of Scandinavian descent all over him.

I too hate to whine too but for minorities it seems like location is the difference between being a player or being lonely even if you have maxed out on a lot of things. A Latino growing up in Minnesota with good looks and game could absolutely kill it while if you put that same dude in Louisiana he is watching porn instead of going out.

I feel you guys about Southern women overvaluing themselves. So many men have said you have 5s believing they are 9s in the south and I agree with that. I have finally figured out why that is though.

1. The south is 50:50 in most cases, 50 percent Black women and 50 percent White women.

2. Due to the higher than average obesity rates, of the White women remaining in the south, only half aren't obese.

3. You have the remaining who are realistically like 25 percent of the population that are hot, amazing, and can be found in mostly college towns and big cities. Those girls know their value.

I hear it is the same way with places like Toronto where Asian and Indian women make up the majority, the few White girls remaining have their values shoot up.

I wouldn't wish New England on my worst enemy. I only stay here because of my job.
as mentioned in other threads, I am in agreement here. I won't belabor the finer points but the overall sediment is that dating here simply isn't fun. But more to the point of the thread, yes a man's value most certainly change depending on their location. A lot of it has to do with, in my mind, the availability of quality women ( at least quality in regards to overall attractiveness). The other factor has to be the culture - people here are rather xenophobic so an "outsider" has no value here, where as an outsider in other happening places can much more seamlessly get into groups provided they are outgoing. As soon as you are accepted, or shut out of a social group will dictate ones "value", and this in turn can either make dating new women much more difficult ( as is the case here), or simpler.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

LOL, you already know my answer on this bro.

Cali has never been easy but the girls I meet from Dallas and Austin are way more into me.

Synergy is right though, social value is huuuuugely important and wherever I have it I clean up. In the Bay I don't have that many friends. When I'm with friends in LA and we go to Vegas, I have at least 10 times more luck.

In New England? Really?

Wow I thought it was pretty liberal and women were open to trying new kinds of men, my Asian friend seemed to do well for himself in New Hampshire. I always thought the outsider part sucked in what is known as the former confederacy.

Boston is a mixing pot of professional students from virtually everywhere so its not quite the same as the surrounding areas. But the general custom when you live in a smaller town is to settle down by 25, marry, and have kids before 30. If you don't , than you are considered somewhat weird. Its also very difficult to break into social circles here, as most people just stick to them in anything they do. Once you are in a social circle, its easier to get dates with women.

In regards to overall "value" to a guy, I have been to quite a few number of places and have been sporting the same style and can guage my "value" based on the women's numbers I can get. (or sex, or whatever). I also look at the attractiveness of the women I can get numbers from. Where I live, the quality in terms of looks is significantly lower than when I go out west. When a chick I consider to be an "8" in California is intimidated by my style, thats just alien to me here. (its a long story, just know that no women of this caliber would have said the same thing where I live).
