"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Ive been told to call back the VERY next day. What is everyone's take on this ?

Whole Story

Ive been seeing this chick for 2 dates until recently when I went to a club with her and we went dancing on Saturday night. We frenched 3-4 times throughout the duration of the evening. For the last hour we were there, she was text messaging someone constantly and not really enjoying the evening. I went ahead and danced with other chicks and came back to her and we left the club about 1 oclock in the morning. We drove back to her place, where I had parked and she offered to let me stay there for the night. I told her I was tired and just wanted to go pass out on the couch....

We walk to the door, (Mind yall , its monsooning outside , 2 in the morning, and we're out in the far outskirts of San Antonio - small subdivision) and just as we're stepping inside the house, some dude races up OUT OF NO WHERE in his car and starts yelling for me to get out of there. Im like WTF is this **** ? The chick I'm with goes out there and starts sweet talking this a$$h0le and charms him up on the phone in his rage of fury, while he peels back out of the drive way and runs off. I asked her if I should call the cops and she's like "no , dont worry about it, he's just an ex boyfriend who I broke up with 5 MONTHS ago and havent seen since - it was just so strange of him to show up like this" - I was like Okay ??? - So I told her , Ill just go back home (which is an hour away, in the rainstorm) - I didnt want to stay over and have him drive by and shatter out my windows or nothing - I figured there was something she wasnt telling me. I said before I leave, give me some water so im at least hydrated to drive all the way back! When I was done with water, I handed it to her and left....

I got home late late that night. I called her the next day and asked just what that was all about and she's like , He came in and pushed me around a couple times and then left .... and said he was an ex who she had no feelings for....they broke it off 5 months ago...

She called back on Monday and asked to come up to my house and see me. I teased her a bit and finally said "Come over then" .... She got there and we "watched a movie" and several minutes into it , we were making out , and not long after that in bed .... We did it once and then she left at early evening because she had work the next morning on Tuesday.

I called her back later that evening to see if she got home and we talked about things that had happened ....

QUESTION .... Its now Thursday and neither of us have talked yet ... I dont know where to just keep on playing the game with this ho or if I need to be a lil more serious .... Also, does anyone think this other dude is a concern .... Im definitely gonna give her a call today , but just puzzled ...

Any help would be appreciated ....

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Honestly, i've never really thought about this before, but hear it all the time in love songs..

Why exactly do you want us to call, ladies? Do you want to feel like you were not used and that we think of you? What if you were used, do you wants us to lie?

I dont really stress over this, i mean if I had a great time, and kissed her good night, why the hell would i call her next day to say "Oh boy that was great!"?

A universe...where heartbreak and sadness have bee
This is one of those places where a text message would be adequate...something along the lines of, "I really enjoyed Saturday night. :) "

Her line about the ex is total BS. No way she hasn't seen that guy in 5 months and he just happened to roll up on you at 1 in the morning.

If you sleep with a girl and you have higher hopes than just a ONS or someone to hump, I think the obligatory next day phone call is a pretty good idea. No one ever got dumped because they called the day after sex. The risk of not calling is higher.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

who cares
depends, on the girl in my opinion...if its a girl youve gone out with for a long time (at least 3 or 4 dates), i would call the next day....but if is some hoe or some girl who "really likes you" that slept with you the first or second night id be happy just with getting sex and not calling the day after. some girl that slept with me the first night called me the next day or technically the same day bc i left in the morning and she called me later that day. To be honest i didnt even feel like answering, i had enough of her the night before. but i did answer and she wanted to hang out again, i was like nah im going to be busy. but the point is that just as i really didnt feel like talking to her, same might happen with a girl the other way around.
