I'm in business of selling DVDs, for the past two weeks I outwitted my competition, and make him loose money. He tried raising price by 1 dollar, then lowered it by 2 dollars. Nothing would shake me up, I outsold him. He only made 30% of the profits I made.
He has a new game on me right now. Says buy any of my other DVDs and get this one free. How to combat that?
Although other DVDs are boring, I do see some people buying into this. I can play this same game because I can have this same stock of other DVDs and more. I am wondering though, do I need to do this? Because, so far, and it's been less than 24 hours, I sold more DVDs, while he sold less and and spend more on expenses, for those extra free DVDs..
What do you think my game should be? Do I react to him, come up with something better? Do I wait and do calculations? What's my best move?
I do have a better product and better support, but I don't know. With every customer that goes to him, I loose money. I rather own the market fully and make a lot of money.
