"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Hi,

Just an observation: the face of a guy who works out is very different to the weakling who doesn't. It is far more masculine, and generally better looking. I'm not metrosexual or anything, but I know a good looking guy when I see one.

Is this because people with more masculine features tend to be the ones who work out or are naturally more muscular? Or does building muscle affect the look of someone's face?

Just curious. I'm always open to looking more macho :D

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Extremely stupid post, and has been covered before. Metrosexual does NOT mean gay, look it up.

Weightlifting does NOTHING to your face, cardio cuts the face up and gives you a better jaw line. Exercise in general can't affect the face beyond improving circulation. The reason you see buff good looking guys is because they hit the gym and do cardio, they are cut up and look good because of it. Note: exercise actually lowers testosterone levels overall, common misconception.

Weightlifting increases your metabolism(as does cardio). Lower your body's desire to naturally store fat by eating less more often... Note: extended cardio lowers testosterone overall, common misconception that this also applies to low repitition weightlifting.

nah, ANY form of exercise, weightlifting included has been shown to lower testosterone levels after about an hour or 2. I know that running for more than 45 minutes is NOT recommended, I don't quite know how weightlifting affects testosterone levels though.

I'm willing to bet running 45 minutes = spending 45 minutes in the gym lifting as far as that goes. But with lifting there's the hormones that go into muscle repair, so I'm guessing more hormones are depleted over the course of the day when compared to cardio. Just a hunch though.

Not such a stupid post. Sorry if it's been covered before, the search found nothing. And I know metrosexual doesn't mean gay... just a little humour.

Anyway, I didn't know exercise lowers testosterone. Interesting. NewDude, what do you mean by 'cut up'?

Thanks for the ideas

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Sodon't go off talking about common misconceptions, if you don't know the preconceptions, nor the established perceptions.

45 minutes of running does some weird stuff to your system, very weird, too much for me to even talk about. All I can say is, if you've ever watched a marathon race, the winners are scraggly and nasty, the females are just plain scary. Yes, I saw your thread talking about cardio in trained athletes versus untrained athletes and the effects on testosterone levels.

45 minutes of weightlifting, is COMPLETELY dependant on the stress placed on the body. From joints, to testes, to cardiovascular, and hypothalamus. It's all interconnected, a surge in energy requirements stimulates hormonal production, it goes through your pituitary, into your gonads, to signal production. To stress the production, weightlifters induce anaerobic status, which stimulates the receptors in the hypothalamus to signal the slow of ATP production and to oxygenate the bloodstream and synthesize lactic acid in the liver. The hyperstimulated hypothalamus also sends out hormones to the pituitary and thyroid glands to stabilize metabolism, blood circulation, and to produce IGH and HGH to aid in muscle growth. The hormones produced include testosterone.

Everything in moderation. Aerobic exercise is good, just don't overdo it. Marathon runners average something like 5% body fat, which is why they look like sh&t.

Most I ever go for is 3 miles, high intensity = 20 minutes

In reply to what "cut up" means. Cut up = low body fat levels
Someone that's "cut up" is going show jaw structure etc

I'd rather keep my muscular jaw structure, than a "cut up" jaw structure...

At 7%BF, losing 2% more wouldn't make me look like one of those chicken legged marathon runners. I'm amazed they can even get a good start, or do they lose like 30 pounds while they're running?

Heh, I have no idea. But I did cross country and distance track, NEVER lifted and still managed to end up 5'8'' 145 at 8% bf.

It's mostly genetics really, I get bigger as I age (17 right now) it seems. I was never really suited for distance running but w/e it's what I'm pretty good at now. I run along side guys that look like twigs, natural selection, and I'm the exception ;)

Facial structure (jawline, cheek bones etc) are affected by a few things:
-Genetics
-Bodyfat levels
-Use of AAS or HGH (Although it's due more to prolonged and/or higher dosages)

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

What about marathon runners and other skinny people? Why do their face look far less masculine than most bodybuilders'?

P.S.: I'm not saying that lifting changes your facial features, I'm just explaining what the OP was asking.

Marathon runners are good because they're twigs, bigger guys simply can't compete with them. Their genetics are a perfect fit for running, they were NEVER meant to produce lots of testosterone and get muscle.

Basically comes down to

Best Runners = Those people that are genetically skinny

Best Sprinters = Those that are genetically more muscular, and able to build muscle

Running doesn't make you a puny twig, just the puny twigs happen to be the best at running

It's not always genetics NewDude... your body is best at doing, what it always does.

Best long distance Runners = Those people that train to be a better runner(size/power~aerobic capacity)

Best Sprinter = Those people that train to be better sprinters(Size/Power~anaerobic capacity)

I used to be able to walk a five minute mile, lifting my legs about 40% of full power with a steady pace using my arms as the primary means of transferring weight. I relied on anaerobic long fast twitch muscles.

To condition my body into a marathon runner, I would have to convert my muscles into aerobic short fast twitch, (about 1/9 the size of anaerobic long fast twitch). It would take a lot of training, constant and long arduous endurance runs for hours and hours training my body to rely on a steady stream of nutrients...

Marathon runners sometimes lose up to 30 pounds in a race... so I've learned, so that's why they look scraggly in the end. It is pure endurance, and a 10K endurance run would begin to burn muscle to provide me energy...

Genetics surprisingly has created a remarkably undiverse mixing pot among "white people". Most marathon and sprinter champions are of african decent. On the record though, it was a white dude that first broke the 4 minute mile, he trained long and hard, and applied as much of the new physiology as he could to reach his goal. ("they" thought it was impossible)

It's because you have alot of muscles in your face and if you train right all your muscles will grow including the face muscles.

I noticed my face became different when I worked out and it was not due to lower BF, it was due to bigger muscles in the face.

I had never thought about this, but it looks like you're dead on right. Have you read it somewhere or is it an idea of yours?

This is absolutely true. Same thing happened to me. Your protein and general bulking diet from weight lifting will enhance your facial muscles just like any other muscles in your body. You can even work your jaw muscles by clenching your teeth together to develop more definition and a squarer jaw.

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.
