Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

im really upset - i broke up with my girlfriend of two years.

i met her in my freshman year of college and i've been dating her since then. i never dated any other girls from my college before her. i have two choices.. i could have dated her for 2 more years and married her, or do what i did and dumped her. but now i feel like i am regretting it. she did everything for me and i miss her.

here is why i dumped her:

-i couldnt trust her. when she went home she hung out with her x-bf alone in his room. she even bought him a gift for xmas.

-when she went home she hung out with her x-**** buddy alone.

-when i was chillen in her dorm a bunch of boys came to visit her roomates. they asked my g/f what she was doing and she said nothing. she didnt mention anything about me. i was sitting in the back where they couldnt see me. so i went to the bathroom (where they would see me) and she got nervous and nervously told them i was her b/f.

-she wouldnt let me hang out with her and her friends when they went out.

-when my grandfather just got cancer she said to me 'i dont want to marry you if that runs in your family'

-her parents thought they were better than everyone else and i felt uncomfortable around them

-she takes her roomates part over mine

- she said when she graduates she wants to live where she lives and nowhere else.

- she said when we graduate she doesnt know if she wants to be with me still. (that would be a waste of 4 years if i stayed with her)

-she never went to any of my family parties after i went to hers.

-she always went home during small breaks for college. she never stayed with me

*do these problems occur with all girls? i felt bad for her when she was crying/squealing on the phone when i broke up with her. i dont know what to do. should i go back with her. i am so confused. please help

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Get over it.. from what I can see, you're going to be in a much better position once you find a chick who doesn't enjoy creating drama.

Oh, and don't EVER expect a college relationship to last. You're in flux and so are they.

You did right to dump her! No man should put up with half that sh*t!

Just by meeting her ex and ex f*ck buddy in private is a massive disrespect to you and you would be better without her! I remember you posting about your grandad before and that would have been it for me!

Oh and to answer your question, NO these problems do not occur with all girls. You picked a bad one and you can find MUCH better!

Her crying and squealing is trying to make you feel bad when you have no reason to. Don't get caught up in her guilt trips because she is using and will continue to use this to manipulate you.

It always hurts to leave someone behind and be faced with that emptiness it leaves but it doesnt last forever!

Fuvk man the only question I have for you is why didn't you break up with her A LOT sooner?? This girl is a total b-itch!! She's controlling, manipulative and most likely cheated on you multiple times. The problem when you accept the lesser role in a relationship is the girl will take advantage of you, use you and then discard you like a piece of trash.

Why are you regretting this decision? Do you like getting treated like shait? If she already told you she probably would break up with you after college, didn't go to any of your family events and didn't care about any of your concerns she's a loser.

And NO there are plenty of girls who are normal, well mannered, giving and HOT, its just REALLY REALLY REALLY hard to find them.

Corvette, You did the right thing. Period.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

The pain your feeling is pretty normal. It just takes time.

You did the right thing. Better now then when you are married with a few kids - it only gets worse the longer you are together.

Suffice it to say that you two just weren't that compatible for a LTR.

First and foremost I only give advice here when I feel I can be helpful. I know what its like to be in a long term relationship and break up. Even though I did the breaking up, you always question yourself and your feelings try to test you.

You have to reason over these emotions that is the key. Like someone earlier said, you shouldn't have put up with half the things this #(# did.

You will be better off and I promise that it just takes time.

Try and keep busy, pick up a new hobby etc...

One day you will look back and realize you are an amzing person for having the balls to end something that wasn't going to be good for your future.

LISTEN TO ME CAREFUL YOU F>UCK!!!!!!!!
AND FOLLOW IT>....

If you sat down and made a list of things you didnt like about her, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE LIST SAYS OR CONTAINS, ..... ITS OVER>.....

DID YOU UNDERSTANT THAT?????

i.e. MAKING LIST OF THINGS THAT YOU DONT LIKE=ITS OVER!!!!!

DO NOT... I REPEAT.... DO NOT GO BACK TO HER FOR ANY REASON... cause if she does try to get back with you, its for ego purposes.... its over. .move on, i am adiment cause your obviously going to go through some pain, and hopefully you will minimize the pain to come by not getting back with her...

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I would have left her after the 3rd accumulative dot point that bothered you... Don't worry about her... Her crying is perfectly natural, even happens to chicks that never really want a relationship with loser BF. Seems like she took you for granted... Can't change a chick thats like that. They gotta change and evolve on their own...and will offer the next BF a better chance, but you.... there is no hope in salvaging... (not your fault - its human nature)

You did the right thing. No good relationship material girl is going to spending too much time with people she ****ed while she's with you. At the very least if she had sense that if she just had a hookup or two with one of her guy friends before she even knew you she probably wouldn't mention it at all to you. I can understand being around them in similar social scenes a bit but to hang out with them alone is terrible. Hanging out alone with any dudes is pretty bad let alone someone she did. You know she'd throw a fit if you went to lunch with a girl with just you two.

And all that other stuff adds up to "bail!" You're in college. Go get laid.

Dude, you did the right thing.
It will hurt for a little while. I promise you that. BUT it will hurt alot more if you stayed with her.
I recently back in march went through a similar thing with my ex-gf. You can do a search and read up on some of the replies, they might help.
But, DO NOT go back to her. Its over.
