A month ago my girlfriend broke up with me after three years together. We were from different countries and I moved to her country to be with her. We always had arguments, but we both said that there was something special between us and we wanted to be together.
As I had moved to a new country, I suffered from quite a lot of stress, and it ended up affecting the relationship. I have been living alone...I am 28 and she is 26, but still lives with her parents. :s
I have been in many relationship before and have slept around a fair bit in the past so I know a bit about them. With this girl it was like something I had never experienced, and for the first time in my life I actually thought about marriage....she even told me that I am the one that she would like to marry and have children with. However, due to the stress that I felt I began to feel a little depressed and I think that this had a negative impact upon the relationship. This then led to her saying that she doesn't want to be together, and that she has issues about herself that she needs to work out. She seems to always have had this belief that she needs to 'help' and 'fix' people, but this is not something that I have ever wanted. She has only had two boyfriends before me, and said that some of her destructive behaviour made them finish in the same way. Her attitude towards us began to change, and she would get angry with me, often when I hadn't done anything wrong. I also felt angry that she never seems to have appreciated that I moved country, and that she still hasn't made any real efforts to move away from her parent's home.
Stupidly, I got a little desperate and bombarded her with texts saying we could work it out and I would be there for her. Obviously, this wasn't the best thing to do and I regret it very much, she said I shouldn't text her and that she promised that if she realises she has made a mistake, then she will contact me straight away.
Today I start with no contact, and see what happens. Part of me inside feels like she will tell me one day she has made a mistake because I still feel, and have always felt that we would spend our lives together.
I am not sure why I posed this, maybe to help myself, but if someone could give me some advice, then that would be great!
