So by this logic, the woman in the OP article should not have sued, nor had any claim to compensation, moved on and married someone else?taiyuu_otoko said:He should have done exactly what he did. He realized the girl was a loon and marry somebody else, thereby getting on with his life. It's too bad many people can't do the same, but thats their life, not mine.
Good call Rollo. It's time we stop accepting double standards like this.Rollo Tomassi said:So by this logic, the woman in the OP article should not have sued, nor had any claim to compensation, moved on and married someone else?
I'm not saying there evil cause there women, but clearly women have won again, there's no way a man could have pulled this off, myself I'm suprised by the number of men on here that think this guy got what he deserved?Rollo Tomassi said:I'm not trying to say "evil women win again",
Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I don't think 'he got what he deserved', fwiw. Although I see the merits of the legal claim - and this was good lawyering - I think the judgment amount should be reduced upon appeal; it likely will be. But my mind has been polluted by too much education, and they do everything they can to make law students stop thinking that way, so I cannot look at a legal case and think about who is morally right and wrong. If attorneys thought that way, then they'd have to turn away clients. There is almost always a valid legal argument to be found when there is enough money involved.englishman said:I'm suprised by the number of men on here that think this guy got what he deserved?

There is no logic. Logic is a myth. Everyone gets away with whatever they can get away with, for what is best based on their situation, based on the best story they can convince themselves of and convince others.Rollo Tomassi said:So by this logic, the woman in the OP article should not have sued, nor had any claim to compensation, moved on and married someone else?
