"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I'm wondering if my ex might have had bpd tendencies but seeing as she was my first real relationship I can't be sure as i've nothing to judge her against.

I'll run through some of the things I think might make her a candidate:

On our first date she was in a petrol station buying cigs, when she got back in the taxi she said some guy hit on her and she told him her boyfriend (me) was in the car.

She was all over me and I could do nothing wrong in the first few months. Was extremely easy to get on with and no resistance to things I'd ask her to do.

She has a thing about food...she won't eat meat but if it's unrecognisable she'll eat it. Very, very picky about what she'll eat...on our 3rd date we went out for a roast dinner and she sat there watching me eat a full meal while she had a glass of wine because there was nothing she wanted.

She got blindingly drunk every single night I was with her and usually ended up falling asleep on me on the sofa. Then in the morning she'd be like a different person and wouldn't even hug me or kiss me properly.

After a few months she started picking fights with me for no reason. One minute she'd be cuddled up to me the next she'd say: (example) "you never get excited about anything" when we were just sat there watching a film...I'd ask her what she means and she would just repeat it over and over while looking at me like I'd just shat on the carpet.

She would say things that made absolutely no sense and didn't fit into anything we were doing while drunk.

She told me she'd love to see me in a an argument because i'm too laid back.

She told me things couldn't work between us unless I was harder on her and if not then she'd walk all over me (was crying while telling me this)

Nearly every time I'd see her she'd end up telling me it's not working out and then look at me to try and win her round again and make her feel ok. She told me i had no fight in me one time and said just sleep on the sofa and leave in the morning...this is after no argument at all she was just sat there looking at me.

If I ignored her attempts at getting attention sometimes she'd just roll over and start crying so I could hear her whimpering.

She would constantly flirt with other guys wether it be on facebook or on the dating site I met her on (which is the reason I finally broke up with her). When I confronted her about it she said "so I talk to guys on there big deal."

She never admits responsibility for her actions...though she did used to admit she had mood swings and said it wasn't fair on me...she said "maybe you should find someone who will treat you better"

Refused to go to the doctors about her smear test that showed abnormal results because she was sure she had cancer so didn't want it to be confirmed in her mind. she'd rather just ignore it.
We stayed up all night with me telling her she needed to do it but she would promise me one minute then the next say she wasn't going.

On new years eve she told me things aren't going to work out because she was too old for me and started crying. she wouldn't listen to anything I said until I started crying myself then she did a 180 and hugged me and said she was sorry for being silly and after that she was all over me like when we first started going out. She would just sit there in bed staring at me wide-eyed smiling.

She'd constantly tell me her back is hurting and how she feels like she's falling apart to try get sympathy from me.

Her dad lives just a couple miles away but her and her siblings haven't seen him in 10 years. I didn't ask why.

Does any of this sound familiar to you guys who have experience with an actual bpd?

Thanks

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

BOLT! Get out of there fast but remember everything you've experienced because you'll see it again. Hopefully next time you'll see the red flags early on. Although it make take a few more burns until you actually listen them. I only speak from experience.

I'm not sure how to feel about knowing she's a bpd to be honest.
Just my luck i get one for my first gf. I already broke up with her 2 weeks ago this saturday.
She has tried to initiate contact last weekend saying she missed me then the next day doing a 180 and saying let's just leave things as they are. Still trying to mess with my head and I'm betting that's not the last time i hear from her.

Embarrassingly though a part of me still wants to see her again...I want that sweet creature back that she was when we first started dating even though i know it's not possible or healthy for me anyway.

I've made a list of all the bad things she did towards me as recommended by some guys on here and it has definitely helped me out when i start yearning for her to be in my life again.

I had a dream the other night about her...we were visiting my parents and she was being totally unaffectionate towards me then at the end of the dream I went to kiss her and she just looked at me like I was nothing with a dead expression on her face and wouldn't kiss me...I got infuriated and ran towards her filled with hate then the dream ended...

Take that dream as a sign. The sweet girl you saw isn't her, it's an act, all a show. This is a little corny but its something my mother told me when I first got my heart broken going through something similar; 'when someone shows you who they are believe them the first time.' She's shown you who she is. Se played all sweet trying to get you back because she knows that bait worked before, then when you don't comply she immediately flips it around, basically trying another tactic because the first one didn't work. No woman should ever have to use a 'tactic' on you. Make that a mandatory rule and move on.

Something like this? :) http://i53.fastpic.ru/big/2013/0222/c0/163c243970695fae98734478ed6e64c0.jpg

I find that picture really interesting, coz:

1. BPD's can assume that same innocent, child-like expression on their face and reel you in.
2. She resembles a grown up woman by her clothing, her hair, her make-up etc. But she really is just a little child. And that's what a typical BPD woman is: a little girl inside the body of a grown up woman...

Exactly like that!

And yes she had a habit of softening her voice and putting on a cute little girl facade whenever she was in "love mode" or when we would talk on the phone right at the start of the relationship.

I take it this is all done in an effort to get you to want to protect them and make you feel more masculine in their presence thus boosting your ego? I have to say it works terrifyingly well.

Dude...ruuuunnnnnnnnnnnnn. run fast and far. You did better than me. atleast you spotted these things early. I just got rid of mine from almost being with 2 years of HELL. She is a classic bpd. So many of the things you just said are the same things mine did. Im to old, im falling apart, the world is out to get me, blah blah blah etc etc etc. Any way you want to cut it cook it or slice it...she is a bpd and always will be. they never change and never will. Trust me i tried this and learnd the hard way. Once they think they ar losing control of you things can get real ugly. so my advice to you is say " Hey i dont think things between us are working out and it would be best if we did not see each other anymore" and walk away. If you stay in this relationship you will fall deeper and deeper into her trap and it will take longer to get out and longer to recover. so RUN

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Dump her...but i did gather some things that you should work on in your next relationship...she was basically telling you that you are a doormat and it is annoying to her because she wants to be more attracted to you.....don't take any of her sh&t and don't be scared to put her in her place when she is acting like a b&tch...and definitely don't be scared to argue...but for this chick...dump her a$$. Also, despite her reaction....never cry over a chick....family member is one thing...but never a chick...and most of them lose respect for you no matter what they act like or say.

I'm not sure you're right tbh mate. Near the end (actually the last time I saw her) she went on one of her crazy rants where I couldn't do anything right which ended with me shouting at her telling her never to shout at me for no reason. I ended up shouting at her "what's so fvcking great and amazing about you? You always put me down saying I never speak and I don't get excited but what the fvck do you get excited about, you just sit there watching your tv in silence expecting me to entertain you" she REALLY didn't like that and wouldn't let me touch her for a few hours after that. She kept saying how I thought I was "it" and loved myself.

She completely changed towards me after I finally stood up to her over the next few days she showed no interest in me which is why I ended up looking on the dating site we met on and seeing she was still logging on. That's when I ended the relationship.

And about the crying, I basically forced myself to do it because nothing I was saying was getting through to her. I could sense she wasn't listening to reason so I knew she was looking for an emotional reaction from me. Then as soon as she saw it she broke down her defences and was all over me again.
