I want to get into boxing but I don't know where to begin. Any tips for a beginner wanting to assult the heavy bag and start sparring in the ring.

Step 2: Verify that the boxing gym you find is not a rip-off or scam, and that it offers lessons.

Step 3: Pay for gym membership/lessons.

Step 4: Show up to gym/lessons on a regular basis.

Boxing is an art that doesn't require advanced techniques, but requires intense training. So if you are cheap you can take a month or two of boxing classes, learn all the strikes, the leapoard stance, the weaving; then quit and just train on your own once you know the right way to punch.
