borrowing a cute puppy to meet babes?

Anyone try borrowing/owning a cute puppy to meet babes at a park? I was at an Irish fair & saw this dude w/ a tiny dalmation puppy on a leash. He was having all type of ladies approach him & pet his puppy. He was flirting w/ them & getting phone numbers. Seems like good idea. Anyone else have sucess w/ this?

I actually thought of a similar idea for a date. What better date than to take her to the local pound and have her help you pick out a cute new pet: a kitten! She would think about now nice I was, and how sensitive. And then she would have a stake in the pets future and want to come by and see how it's doing. Good plan, no?

But then I thought about the unworkable logistics: I would only be able to do it once, with one girl. Either that, or i would have a bunch of cats from previous dates.
I could just imagine the scene. We come back to my apartment after adopting the kitten. Then i open the door to the collective "meow" of 20 other cats, scurrying around my apartment. All of varying, ascending ages. All wearing the same blue collar from the adoption pound.

So it was really an unworkable idea. There might be another way to get rid of the cats so she doesnt think i do this as a front. So that she thinks our date was special. But basically the whole thing is too much of a pain. I dont wanna get pets just to impress a girl.

Plus, what if she finds the mass cat-grave in the yard?

I used to have a really cute Australian/Silky terrier, she was a chick magnet. I'd go for walks and HB's would just come up to pat her in the park, course that was ages ago.
