"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

I'm a salesman who commutes to work. There and back, the journey takes up about 3 hours of my day. In the morning, i feel run down and bored when i get to work which is a bad footing to begin selling on, and in the evening, I can do very little when i get back because I get home around 9.30. I want to make good use of that time, which i generally waste just reading the paper.
What's some good resources, be they books, music, podcasts, things to actually do, to make the best use of that time so I arrive at work more focused, and can educate myself going home rather than just feeling wiped out?

I see guys on here talk about audiobooks by people like Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar and that type. What's the material like, and are any of them worth listening to?

No recommendations ignored, particularly not form other salesmen.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

... and Brian Tracy. They're awesome salesmen. Their speeches are so descriptive and positive. Deffinetly a great way to start the day selling.

Why don't you pick up one of their CDs from the library or ThePirateBay.org?

I second the Brian Tracy recommendation. He's got dozens of CD programs that each are 10 or 12 CD's long. Brilliant stuff.

I used to live near a place called "Talking Book World," where you could rent CD courses like that.

If you want specific sales stuff, there's plenty of NLP tape programs that you can get and listen to. I'd recommend anything from maxpersuasion.com, although they are bit pricey.

Have a look at nightengaleconant, they've got loads of stuff.
