If a girl came up to me and said hi, my name is so and so... i'd be like yea... so? wtf do you want?
I think that's how most girls would react.
You're coming into a situation blatently showing a girl you like her. This is no different than telling a girl "i like you".
Anything is better than hi my name is...
Try saying something about the current situation, be spontaneous. Look at the thing she is doing, and say something about it it... Open ended questions work best.
For ultimate effect act like you give a sh*t about what they're doing and are interested by it.
