Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

And as for actual magazines, there sure are some out there specifically tailored to the individual but if you are talking about general market trends and economic happenings be sure to read a few of the following:
Forbes
BusinessWeek
Fortune
Money Week
WSJ (obvious)
The Economist
I think there also some put out there by Kiplinger that may be more individual investor oriented.
Although, the Economist is more of a world news magazine despite its name, and while it is worth reading, you might want to read Bloomberg Magazine or Barron's if you're interested in working in the financial markets.

Economist is more enjoyable to those who LOVE economics. Having a degree myself in the area, I wouldn't read it in my spare time. Yahoo finance news and a daily look at highlights on fox news is enough for me to take in the current financial events.
