"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

hey, i know this may have been discussed before, but this guy is seriously my best friend. i've known him for years. well, before, when i was afc, and somewhat introverted is when we got to know each other...but seriously, i've known him for like 8 years. i only have two truly good friends like this, so i don't want to drop them just because of this, but explaining to him simply doesn't seem to work?

you see, today, my friend and i were riding the university bus to go to his car. we were sitting close to the middle of the bus. the stop after ours, these two women, hb9 and hb8, get on, and sit near the front of the bus. they scope the bus, you know, glance around as would anyone, and the hb9 makes solid eyecontact with me...for like 3 seconds.
i didn't do anything, but continued talking with my friend. after a few minutes, i noticed her glancing over several times, so it was obvious she was checking me out.

anyway, i tell my friend something like "hey man, let's go over and chat up those cute girls...i'll take the pink one (hb9) and you take the green one (hb8)." and he's like no.

he would not budge from his seat. i mean, i said like "ok, at the next stop we'll get up and go." and he's like "sure." and at the stop, i get up, while the girls are looking at me, and then he's not coming with me. so i go back and sit down. i'm like wtf man?

and he tells me i should go while he just sits there. frankly, i won't abandon my friend for some girls. i don't care about them as much as i care about us winging together, it would be fun. besides, he got back only a few weeks ago after being overseas for over 6-7 months. but before that, he always tried to give me "tips" on how to approach girls and sh|t, like he knows better.

anyway, then i just change the subject and say what's up this weekend, and he suggests we go to a strip club. i'm like no way, there's these two fine girls right here man...and then he starts this sh|t about "since when did you turn gay"

i just kept changing the subject, and we were just joking and sh|t mostly. and what's stupid is how he kept leaning over to tell me that the girl was clearly staring at me. i honestly didn't care too much about the girl at that point, or beyond that point anyway.

off the bus, i tried to explain to him how stupid that was. how it would just be fun. he keeps suggesting we go to a bar, or old high school friend's party to find some girls. do you know anyway i can explain to him that these opportunities are right in front of him?

i'm not as much as mad at him as i want to help him out, because i'm 21 now, and before i couldn't really go to a lot of clubs with him. we would party and stuff, but now we can really wing together, which would be cool.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

You should have approached those girls anyway - and tell the HB8 to go and talk to your friend or something.

Trying, then giving up, was really bad. I bet you looked like a right arse.

As for your mate...well, do whatever you like. But don't chicken out on approaches just cos hes there.

yeah, i'm pretty sure i did look like an arse when i did that. i know, and i can laugh at myself for it. heck, the girl was probably only glancing at me after that because she was probably thinking whytf did he stop and not come over here...what an idiot, or something. oh well.

yeah, i mean, i told him there's always next time. thing is, i would feel worse sort of like abondoning my friend just to go talk to some girl who's checking me out, but who i don't even know yet. i mean, i don't want him to hate me for it or anything.

but, that's a good suggestion, i should have just approached and told her about my friend. thanks.

I know from experience that its pretty much impossible to change the mentality of your friends - most people who don't read this sort of material would never consider going to chat up girls on a bus or wherever and, frustrating though it is, you've got to accept you're not gonna be able to persuade them to.
Your best bet in your situation would have been to go and chat to them anyway, and show your mate what he was missing out on!

when a soldier sees an opponent firing his gun behind a large rock, he goes around this "block" to get to the target, he doesn't wait, he goes.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
