"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

I concur most data we are fed from any source is skewed and biased. I have heard thousands of them and the one that gets me most, top of the list, is the one from the 70s-80s telling us that carb packed foods should be the biggest portion of our plate.” Eat a big pile of pasta the size of a pile of moose crap, a medium sized pile of veggies the size of a pile of dog crap, and a piece of meat the size of a rat turd.”

If the research was funded by private interests then most likely the results of the research will be to the benefit of the private interest.
