Bad skin condition

I had a really bad skin condition that pretty much blistered up a lot of my skin on my sides, back and a little bit on my legs (none of it is visible with clothes on)
It left a ton of scarring and is a big confidence killer, how do I break this to women? It's hard to be all "macho" and then have to break down and tell them that oh yea, I'm kinda scarred for life.... heh, kinda hard to pull off anything ****y or funny after that one.

Tell them it was part of a gang initiation. When she asks further questions, say it was a part of your life that you are still trying to forget, and that you appreciate it if she doesn't ask any more questions about it. appear deeply traumatized then change the conversation topic quickly.
