Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

A lot of people post FR's, but not enough people read them. Most of the time, it's because field reports can be faked (and often are faked). It doesn't help that almost every field report on this forum is a good sarge. Nothing ever goes wrong in them. If something does go wrong, it's a minor little detail. No one ever posts bad FR's.

Well, something did go wrong in the field report I'm about to post. After it happened, I thought about you guys. I thought about all the fake field reports. All the field reports that were almost too good to be true. I thought about flippinfreak, who once questioned if a field report I posted awhile back was fake. I thought about a member that once accused Shezz of being fake (three or four months ago). And I thought, you know what? This would make a good field report. Not because something went right... No, it's the exact opposite. It would make a good field report, because something went wrong.

Now, I'm hoping at the very least, this shows that the field reports I post are not made up. I also hope that this shows that there are members on this forum that post field reports that are actually worth reading (such as shezz and shyryder).

This just happened about 30 minutes ago...

Anyway, here's the story. I live in an efficiency within a hotel on the sixth floor. The windows in this room are broken and don't open. So, I was heading downstairs to get some fresh air. The elevator stops on the fifth floor. A very cute blonde walks in. As soon as the elevator starts moving, she moves really close to me. Now, under normal circumstances, this is a really good thing. But for some reason, I feel uncomfortable. I was trapped in a corner, litterally. So, I moved away.

Keep in mind that throughout this following conversation, I'm feeling a little akward. For some strange reason, I'm feeling trapped within this elevator. I realize that she's hitting on me and practically throwing herself at me, but I cannot get over the strange feeling of being trapped. All I want to do is get out of the elevator.

Her: "I'm sorry" (she's silent for a moment) "What's your name?"
Me: "Derek"
Her: "How old are you?"
Me: "Twenty one"
Her: "I don't know how to say this without sounding weird, but I think you're hot. Do you live alone?"
Me: "Yes"
Her: "Well, maybe sometime if you're not too busy..."

Before she even finishes her sentence, the elevator door opens. I speed-walk away from her without saying another word. I imagine that she also felt a little akward after this, considering that I practically ran away from her.

There you have it. -1 for Derek, +1 for everyone who read this and laughed to themselves at my patheticness. Don't worry, I laugh to myself too when I think about it.

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

By the way, this should be a lesson about why you should feel comfortable with your surroundings. Yes, I realized after I left the elevator that the problem was that I was completely uncomfortable.

rofl... nice

The next time you see her, make up some exuse, like "o hey, sorry about before, I was kinda out of it, I just heard my mom was in the emergency room and I was rushing there."

Well, maybe not that but you get the idea, it's not nessesarily a lost cause. She's a horny b1tch and sounds like an easy lay.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

You felt intimidated, you were not in the right mindset to match her sexuality. If she presses hard then you needed to match it and press harder.

This is how you could have handled it if you had the right mindest (you should always get into the sexual state of mindest if you see a hot chick).

Her: "I'm sorry" (she's silent for a moment) "What's your name?"

You: sorry I don't know you and I was told by my mom never to tell my name to strangers and you are a stranger (while given her a sly look and a c0cky grin)

You: oh come on lol fine I am christina there I am not a stranger and your name??

you: Derek and its nice to meet you (you intiate handshake and you intiate looking at her eyes with a ****y grin)

Her: and how old are you Derek??!

you: "Twenty one"

Her: "I don't know how to say this without sounding weird, but I think you're hot. Do you live alone?"

You: Yeah I got my own place why do you ask? (again its important to smile at her showing her that you are game and that you know what is up but you are just playing along)

Her: "Well, maybe sometime if you're not too busy..."

You: I ain't buzy now.... press the emergency stop button christina.

Elevators are a weird place for most people, the feeling of being trapped is a good analogy. But I can't understand why you wouldn't feel increasingly confident when this girl flat out said she was attracted to you??? I wouldn't say this is completely a lost cause if you ever see her again but you probably bruised her ego by storming out when she was conveying her interest to you. I'd be surprised if she is happy to see you next time you run into her, if there is a next time.
