"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Hey guys,

Haven't checked in for a hot minute. Things have been going great with this new gal I am seeing. We been together for over a year now and things are swell...except.

I keep having bad dreams about this one. Sometimes she is cheating on me...other times she treats me like sh!t, the recurring theme is basically me getting screwed over and her not giving two craps about me.

In real life, this could not be further from the truth. She is warm, caring and miracle of miracles...my mom actually likes her

I have picked this apart many times and ruled out the whole typical self-sabotage thing. I really do want this relationship to work...but these dreams keep haunting me and for hours after I wake up, I am angry and hurt by her.

I dunno...maybe deep down I just don't trust anyone to get that close. I suppose a shrink might tell me I have a "fear of commitment" Whatever the case, it's really pissing me off..I hate recurring nightmares!

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

It's either 2 things

1. Self-sobotage, fear of commitment

2. Your subconscious (or perhaps your conscious) fearing rejection, loneliness etc.

I think you'd know the answer the best

You're probably thinking about this girl too much. Try occupying your time with something else and maybe you might be able to fall asleep with something else besides this girl in your subconscious. But seeing how you're so into this girl, it might be extremely difficult for you to occupy your mind with other things.

Other than seeing a shrink, maybe you could try real hard in changing the way you feel about these dreams. Usually it always feels the worst the first few minutes or hours after waking, but after that, try and look at it in a not so serious manner. Dreams aren't reality after all.

I still would advocate not thinking about her so much. I strongly feel that's the reason why you dream about her most of the time.

Easy? you're scared of loosing her.

I used to have dreams about people trying to mail bomb me, after I watched Die Hard with a Vengeance for the first time. lol

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

This used to happen to me a lot, too. You've been cheated on and done wrong in the past, and all that has built up into your subconscious. A girl who you had feelings for and trusted did awful things and didn't even bat an eye. Your mind holds onto that, and psychologically associates that trust and caring about someone else and equates that with being done wrong and the girl not even caring. That's coming out in your dreams.

Time will fix it. Though how long it takes depends on how messed up the other girl(s) left you, your mind will eventually begin to associate your feelings for this girl with much more positive emotions. As that happens, the dreams will stop. In the meantime, you just have to remind yourself that your girl can't control the dreams you have and that she didn't really do anything wrong. The danger here is that you will start blurring the line between what is real and what's a dream and start punishing her subconsciously for what her doppel-ganger did in a dream you had.

Wow.

You sure got my number. My first love ended up cheating on me and then rubbing my face in it to add insult to injury. I had no idea she could be such a cold-hearted b!tch. My current girl is the first one I have let get as close to my heart since...so I guess it makes sense that my subconscious is going bonkers.

Thanks for the advice Gio. I don't feel so crazy anymore.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
