As a result of being kids, most of us usually make it a habit to not listen to the things that our parents tell us. Granted, a lot of it is bull****, but every once and a while our parents bless us with information that is absolutely golden... a few days ago is a prime example. I was speaking with my father about my Accounting One test, and what he said to me in regards about the test ended up being more valuable to me as a human being than merely taking a test. He said the following:
"What you learned in elementary school Julian is everything that you will need for the rest of your life. The problems may become more difficult, their may be more words (this is in regards to my test) and it may sound more confusing, but if you just plus and minus yourself out like you did in elementary school... you will always balance out."
This information was so good to me... that I almost got into an accident. It was like every single thing that I have gone through in the past few years had come to a head... this was it... this was the answer I had been looking for during the last four years... and it was under my nose this entire time. I have had the answer since the fifth grade, but overthinking, overacting... overeverything, caused me to purge the answers into obscurity.
Gentlemen... I want you to listen, and listen good. Everything you have ever wanted out of life, girls, grades, success, confidence... whatever... you already have everything you will ever need to achieve all of your goals. It is already there... we were already born with it. However, because we are human and because we have things like logic and reason, we feel like it is our duty to use these reasoning capabilities. And while that is perfectly fine when it comes to Accounting work, in life... your instincts and everything you learned in elementary school is all you will ever need.
Keep It Simple and Stupid and you will never go wrong. In spite of what your conscious mind will tell you, you already have the answers. You are already confident, you are already a success, you are already what you want out of life, but your conscious mind often sucks that away from you with doubt, overanalyzation and other things. Usually our instincts tell us what to do in a situation, but we often over look them in exchange for reason or logic.
I want to re-establish this one point that I made in my last post. Realize, understand, and accept that failure is a part of life. As disappointing, saddening, and hurtful it can be, it is something that will and will continue to happen to all of us. No matter how much you learn, practice, etc... you will still fail... that is just the way things work. What you can prevent... is how failure affects you. Once you accept that failure is inevitable (like death and taxes) you will look at it much like death and taxes... a mere bump along the road. Certainly you piss and moan about taxes... but we still pay them. So piss and moan about failure... but never allow it to stop you.
