Hey guys, I'm trying to measure the attitudes of the members of the board towards how you all envision your financial future, given the current recession. I know a fair amount of you guys are business owners so I took that into consideration making the poll.

Votes are much appreciated, and feel free to clarify/elaborate in the thread if you wish.

IT, Software etc. has been hit, but still going extremely strong. Very easy to get into interesting projects, and with a bit of luck&effort also good pay. It's not 2000 anymore, but specialists (with a little experience) are still in high demand.

As long as you're in the right city ;)

Actually the recession was the best thing that could have happened to my business (web development), about 1/3rd of my clients were people who had gotten laid off, had some money in the bank and wanted to try an idea they have had put on the backburner becuase of their jobs. People who wanted to be their own boss

I got laid off and haven't found a job. There are a lot of interviews going, but nothing will go for sure. I tried my best to represent myself, but if companies don't like me, they don't like me. At the same time, I am starting my own business, even that I have just barely started with the remaining cash in my bank account.

Given the adversity I have endured in the past 6 months, there really isn't one item there that fits my condition perfectly. I am not expecting that things will go well, but I am not backing down either and will continue to fight. I am hoping things will get better, but I am prepared for the worst. My current attitude now about my future is to do my best given the current condition and expect nothing out of the future.
