"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

I went to costco earlier today to buy a couple of things..

I headed to checkout but the lines were long.... Infront of me was this gorgeous burnette.. 5'1", good enough to pose for playboy. She was wearing a pink top, had wavy long hair, blue eyes, perfect tan, nice boobs.. her age would be like in her late 20s... (im sure you have seen those short but HOT women).

While she was standing infront of me..
all kinds of thougts were running through my head.... like:
- should I say this, should I say that
- should I neg her
- I bet she gets approached by dozens of men every day who are pros at Djing
- She probably has a BF or married....... - What if she doesn't respond back and just nods her head and just ignores me
- etc
- I need to say things right..

it was like solving a math problem with 1 minute left before its due.

... My heart was beating somewhat faster.. you feel the adernaline rush cause you know what you want to say something BADLY to her but at the same time you feel the anxiety.

Soo finally, out of nowhere, I just said,
me: "you know what they need here.."
super hot chick: "express lanes!"
me: "yeah, like self check out ones"
super hot chick: "oh i know"

then that was it.

I wanted to say somethign like, "excuse me but, who said you can cut infront of me" like tease her a bit... But I was afraid she might take it the wrong way or something. So I just kept my mouth shut.... becuse its alraedy been like 2 minutes since we had that short conversation and I was already feelling like a wuss because I let 2 minutes of silence slip by.

DAMNIT

After she left, I was still brainstorming on what I couldve said to her.. Im very dissapointed in myself today.

So here is my question to thd DJs here who have been in a similar situation:

Pretend you were in my situation (waiting in line with a hot chick infront of you),
You get a converstation going about the surrounding, and so would you be better off:

a) keep the converstation going non stop and until you # close
b) converstation stops for like a couple of minutes. Then you start another one later (very wussy like I think)

or anything else?

Thanks

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

lol, if I ever catch myself NOT talking to the girl, and I decide I actually want to to. I tell her that I was just thinking about something, I don't lie, than I ask for what I want, than spin from there.

If your going to bail early, and than worry about picking it back up again, I think that you shouldn't worry so much about it. You shouldn't be afraid of offending her, just be afraid of her being easily offended, which she wasn't. Usually, the only people who are easily offended, are the ones who are scared, I mean, they give you an angry look as soon as a few words slip past your lips. Almost 100% of people after that point are just fine to open your mouth and say just about anything to, right up until they start to fidget with things, look away from you, or start whispering to somebody else. Don't be afraid if they are already standing with a friend though, just pretend you are a little kid, not hyper if that isn't you, but inquisitive. Just act curious, they'll understand, and than tease them, like make a joke about how you think they wouldn't use something. Don't laugh at the joke first though, that ruins a good joke, always laugh immediately after what they say, or after they respond to you.

Boy, I still can't explain myself with women, I wish I wasn't a natural quiet guy.

That sucks man. Next time you find yourself in that situation where you've already blown your chances and you're sitting in 2 minutes of silence, you might as well say the following right before she walks away, since you'll never see her again anyway:

"Can I start over again?

I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there...if you like it, you can take it...if you don't...send it right back.

I want to be on you.

Wait.

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I... I wanna be on you. "

if i was you id work on thinking less, it gives you less of an oportunity to make yourself nervous.

At least you said something, most guys would have just stood there.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

This was an excellent first FR than, if you have others, please correct me. This was an excellent first cold approach FR if that is the case:)

So next time, just keep on talking to her, don't worry about any techniques, we'll help you fix your game to work in some tension building pauses in the future.

Just listen to Spiky, I think he gave you the most down to earth advice. Just keep talking to her, stop thinking, just let it flow, but try to remember everything that was going on.

Come back and tell us about it. You could do it just before your going to get back to the computer tomorrow:) like on the bus, or at your bus stop, in the hallway before class, look everywhere for a girl or pick the first one you see, that you want to approach, but are too afraid to.

Can't wait to help you!

DJnoob, that was a good try but because your social skills are not top notch, it's better to memorize canned lines so that there's no awkward silences like that. You should use an opener like "Hi I'd like to have a female opinion about something. Would you date a guy who was friends with his ex?"

Now that would be an AWESOME opinion opener.

What do you think of me being honest though?

ok, so lets say i asked her that... so, when its time to # close, I dont just go, "hey write down your number and ill call you up sometime"

Is there a smoother way of doing this?

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

The problem was you saw her as more than any other woman.

Observations:

- Say "Hi" Hi seems to... set some kind of ...bond. It makes whatever conversation you'd have following the lane thing not so akward.
- What's your name? Another... bonding stuff.
- Do what you thought about doing Teasing, etc.
- There are ways to make the # close smoother, yes. But take baby steps man. Get the # first, as cool as you can, and you'll get cooler and cooler. Just follow the rules.

Standing in line approaches are one of my favorites. I usually comment on what they are buying, the stupid tabloids, etc.

Just make it a habit of talking to people when in line.

Well of course, you want to tell the truth, so ignore any techniques that you think are going to be a lie.

how's this one?

"You know what? Don't answer that, I'd like to talk to again some time. Your interesting(she may ask why, tell her why you approached her and not the other girl), what's your phone number?"
