"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

SoSuave, I need some advice.

I might not be the most well respected or popular member on this forum. But regardless of that I need some advice.

Heres where I'm @: I'm currently in the ARMY reserves in the midwest. I've already been deployed a once for 15 months and got back june of 04. Now there are heavy rumors that we will be getting deployed once again to a hostile area overseas. For the duration of 1 year to 1.5 years. To put it lightly I'm not thrilled. It would throw a major wrench in my life plans and DJ plans. To be frank it would make like unbearable.

Heres the situation. I could stick around my hometown (which i've grown sick of) and accept a job as a carpenters apprentince and make 14.30 an hour. OR, accept the sales job I got out in California. I don't know anyone out there at all and could switch over to another unit that is less likely to be deployed.

Alot of my family and friends told me to "be a man" and just stay home. They say it would be to bold of a move to go out to Cali and start new.

So I come to you guys for a fresh perspective on the situation. What should I do?

Thanks.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Why stick around and be deployed again?

What part of california are you thinking about going?

I was Regular Army so I know the stress deployments can put on you. If you can get out of going again and that is what you want I would go as fast as I could.

IMO the National Guard is being used way too much out side of the united states where it was designed to be.

Plus I saw some of the equipment you guys get.

Tough deal mate. Being deployed once, then having to worry about it happening again. I think you just have to ask youself if it's worth it. I can't honestly empathize with you because I've never been in the situation, but if you need to get away, don't settle. Do what you have to do. Don't listen to anyone else...nobody knows YOU, better than yourself.

MAN thanks for the ADVICE DJ's. You guys really are an awesome inspiration. Honestly I'm a pretty strong willed person that never asks for advice (usually) but I knew that you guys would come through.

I have been considering the fact that people around me in my life are not making a progression. They have pretty much settled for mediocrity and I believe that when I bring up the idea of me doing something a little risky they subconciously try to sabatoge my mental frame. Napoleon Hill talks about this a little bit in his writings.

The only thing really holding me back is that my Grandma would be so far away from me...and she pretty much raised me so I'd feel pretty bad about leaving her.

As far as the deployment..I really can't say exactly where we are going..But lets just say it's hot and dry as hell and it's not Iraq. Anyways, I'm sure you can understand my trepidation.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Be careful...

Be careful about being a hero. I would let the a$$holes who start the wars fight them.

Just my opinion, do as you wish.
