"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Ok quick background... I have a very cute dermatologist that Ive been flirting with on and off the past few months(typically go in every 1 or 2 weeks for an appointment)

Well, a few days ago I decided to give her a call up at her office and ask her out for dinner/drinks later this week. She says "Wow, Yes that could be a alot of fun!" Ok now heres where the AFC totally started kickin in... She first asked what number would be good to reach me at so I gave her my cell but then for whatever reason I didnt ask her cell # back in return! Then after that she said ok so did you have any day in mind and I said well Im busy friday but pretty clear the rest of the week so give me a call and we can work something out.

Needless to say its been like 3 days and no call :( So heres what Im thinking, should I call her up at the office again if I dont hear from her by next week, or should I just next her already and just go into my next appointment like nothing happened?

Like I said we always flirted back and forth and seem seemed to be really excited about getting together, but think I might have blown it by not getting her # or settign a date then and there.

Any advice??

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

wait a week. you toss your assertiveness in the garbage first time around. she's thinking 'oh oh, afc here." or shes thinking "hmmm, this guy doesnt seem very interested."

either way, wait a week so that she knows you don't really care what she thinks, you're too busy with life to worry about it.

then call her with a suggestion. dont ask her 'want to go out?". she's already said yes. Call with "Hey there. Are you free Friday? I want to take you to see the new [insert movie here]"

anyway, whatever you do just set a date and get on with it.

Damn, I see so many guys agreeing to "maybe" dates on this board, and then getting all annoyed. That's gotta stop. I think you are in an unenviable position: you should take the hint and not call her anymore for nonmedical reasons.

If you're going to stop seeing her soon, then you can go for it and call again. But if she's going to be you doc for a while, it would so annoying to call back and ask her out after she (basically) said no.

You asked out your doctor and she was receptive to your advances. However, instead of continuing to lead the situation by # closing, you let her lead by getting your #. Now some guys will say since she asked for your # its a clear indication that she really wasn't interested, she was just being polite. Then there are another group of guys who will say she was interested up until she threw that little $hit test out and you failed.

In either case, here's how I'd handle this situation. Go in for your next visit, continue flirting with her and act like nothing happened. If she mentions anything about the half date you guys had arranged, then you know she's truly interested and you can # close her right on the spot. If she doesn't then take it as a sign that's she's not interested.

I agree with Phyzzle though, you need to follow through COMPLETELY!! Don't put the power in the girl's hands in the future.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

She told you that would be fun...and asked for your number. Why you didn't ask for hers? What's wrong with you? LOL.

Anyway...call her office ONLY for medical stuff. Unless she tells you otherwise.

Simply wait for the next Medical Visit. And do one of two things:

a) Joekerr's advice

OR

b) Pimp-sicle's advice

It is your call.

But make sure that this time you have a couple of "save the date" on mind. Asking a woman out without having a clue to were you want to take her is kind of weak. You should have thought about where and when you wanted to take her WAY in advance.
