We are just giving you a hard time and making light of the ideologies/paradigms in regards to alpha v beta (really a silly concept in a lot of ways).

Mad props for you if you are busting your ass in the gym/at work--we can't ever settle for a ****ty version of ourselves--we have to keep pushing to the very max...if we are still breathing there is still room for improvement and progress...the job is never done...
