"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I know, I know, there are hundreds if not thousands of AFC's on this site who have gone through highschool. Many of you hated it blahblahblah. Stay off of the topic of highschool reputations please.

When you speak with somebody you either establish, a good repuation, or a bad reputation. If taht is not true, close this thread now.

How is this in any way related to social proof?

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Most likely, but I am rushed... I was asking a straight question, and outlining what path I wanted you to take. Moot point I guess, my questions rarely ever get me the answer I want anyhow.

Reputation: you all know what it is.

Social proof is the proof that others give you that you are a socially acceptable person. With social proof alone, women will throw themselves at your feet.

I believe reputation and social proof go hand in hand. One washes/dirties the other.

The TYPE of social proof you gain is important. Socially acceptable is the most common. It stems off into the positive, and negative, and allows for a great deal of overlap.

Social proof and reputation are interconnected. If you have a reputation at a certain venue, people not need to social proof you for you to gain social proof. You can walk in, and act like a doofus, total retard, loser, AFC, crying, screaming, kicking, anything embarassing you damn well like. Thats why groups of friends vouch for one another, REPUTATION. All somebody needs to know whether you have social proof if you have a great reputation is for another person with a great reputation to pat you on the back.

I am going more in depth than FAST SEDUCTION, or SPEED SEDUCTION, here guys. I am not one to dabble in a single persons life unless I honestly care about them. I will test them though, and leave them with memories... So I play with reputation...

When you walk into a club, most people have to fit the dresscode. They have to wait in line for drinks. The bar staff don't know who they are. If they want special treatment, they need to be social proofed, and they need to donate to the community. On the other hand, if they have a REPUTATION with just a single person, who also has a REPUTATION, the reputation can immediately manifest itself. Social proof becomes assumed.

Indirect social proof, the female doesn't even need to see it.

So my question....

How is social proof, related to reputation.

Depends what kind of Reputation you are trying to build up.

'When you speak with somebody you either establish, a good repuation, or a bad reputation. If taht is not true, close this thread now.'

Incorrect ;), that is first impressions. Reputation is more of a word-of-mouth knowledge in the community you are known within.

To clarify: A man walks into a bar and everyone starts whispering to eachother about how he's a player based upon previous meetings and incidents. - thats reputation.

A man walks up to a woman and talks to her, she's comes off thinking he is a player - first impressions.

So back to your real question. Some reputations can help give positive social feedback, but some don't. e.g. A man has a reputation for making love to his goats, and the whole town knows it.. is this going to effect his social proof positively or negatively with women?

'Social proof and reputation are interconnected. If you have a reputation at a certain venue, people not need to social proof you for you to gain social proof. '

Only if you have a reputation for having social proof to begin with, i think your confused about the difference between reputation and social proof mate.

Change all the reputation words in your post to popularity and you may be closer to the mark, because popularity = social proof and always has.

this is a little more complited than I wanted... I just want to **** bad women man, that's it

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Hey there... Well think about it your rep is your style your clique and your attitude, in high-school it’s a very important factor as everyone wants to be part of a clique which they consider "cool". And even as adults our first impressions are based in social reps. Next time you look at another human being (once you come out of your den and realize that sunlight will not set you on fire :p) think about this; How are they dressed, what body language they are using and (if you manage to strike up a conversation) if everything the person does amalgamates harmoniously.

Drifting off the subject a bit let me tell you that that’s the reason why so many people suffer from “incongruence”. Here is a little food for thought; do your clothes, body language, attitude and clique fit together with your style? I mean really think about it, if you’re wearing surfer clothes and don't know the lingo or your body language scream IBSR!!! (Indoor Based Social Reject), do you think that you are going to be seen as a "Surfer" or just "another-*******-in-trendy-clothes"? Remember your social rep is how people base their first impressions of you, also your clique also does that to some extent (so if your dressed like a rock-star and are surrounded by buck-teethed-glass-wearing-turtle-neck-wielding-freaks (no offence to anyone) your gonna look at tad out of place or even worse the king of the geeks).

So what I’m trying to get at is that if you adopt someone else’s style, your basically going to look like a fanny.

None of your attempts will seem right, speaking of which; I saw someone during work telling a girl some sort of C&F comment, he had the generic “highlighted” hair style, he had the horrendous pink **** and he had the worn-n’-torn jeans. So he had the look, he had the line. But! He had really closed body language and the tone in which he said “the line” made me cringe (he sounded half scared, half confident). These two factors made the girl just give him the look and ignore him; everything has to be harmoniously pieced together in order for it to work. Without that balance my friend you are basically ****ed… so stop using “lines” that other people have pioneered stop wanking over false time constraints and Neg hits or whatever you want to call em. And start acting like yourself, if you think you’re a bit boring do what I did, read more (porn doesn’t count) watch the educational programs (again porn doesn’t count) and take up a couple of activities like join a club or something that will you and interest other people as well (so joining a role-playing group is a bit silly. For example; I joined a bar so I could talk to people about what they are drinking).

So yea anyway I think reps do form a strong part of our society, think about the labels we have now a days and you will easily see that they do have a big impact on people’s first impressions, and that’s the reason why we should show congruence when we have any kind of social rep, its kind of hard not to have one, you wear a shot leather jacket your seen as a rocker, you wear a long leather jacket your classed as a goth, you wear a chain mail shirt in public and your classed as a wierdo or a head-case for the rest of your life (not to mention the police start chasing you, and with thirty kilos of chain it’s a tad bit hard to run faster than their cars (trust me I know))

Anyway way guys, hope I answered whatever this thread was meant to be about…

Love

Yea I have to agree with Chillisauce here you might have the definitions of reputation and social proof mixed up....

Your "rep" is based on how other people perceive you. It's the stigma you maintain without doing anything new. It's the way people believe you behave, act, whatever on a normal basis.

social proof is the platform for your "rep"......You build your "rep" with your social proof.....IE...people see you around with group X they assume you have similar characteristics of group X, therefore your "rep" includes those characteristics. Same thing if a guy is interacting with lot of females other females will see this (social proof) and want to interact with him based on their perception of his "rep" ...being a ladiesman or whatever....

You must understand that your "rep" can be altered by your social proof at the time and is never static except in your own circle of peers. Your social proof at the time can either help or hurt your "rep".

I hope that helps some....I'm freakin tired....long holiday.....

You know you could of just simplified your post to Social Proof is the vibeing with the room (which is what it is), If I went hunting, lets say in a bar, I would gain social proof from the bar staff and the people round the bar. That would mean I am gaining SP just cause I share the same trade as them, but I might be hanging out with a bunch of geeks, could be dressed like a Mexican (which I have done before) and I would still get social proof off them. So in theory reps are important for first impressions, but I bet you I could dress anyway you like and hangout with anyone you wanted and the SP would be the same.

anyway bro you might of misunderstood my post cause I was talking about Clones stealing "reps" (Its seems every ****ing person in the community is using the "can I have your female opinion on why my-****-is-too-small-to-make-up-something-original-to-say-to-you) I might of started talking about Reps and how its linked to SP at the start of the post but then I lost track of the main topic.

Oh and by the way your "Rep" is not how people pensive someone will act but what clichéd meaning that person fits into, like I explained at the end of my last post. **** I would make a lot of money if I could tell what someone would act like just by seeing their group and clothes... But then again I can tell you if they are fakeing it.

Ne way, I think my post was more advice than a real reply to the thread.

Oh and next time you try to correct me on basic PU lingo I’m going to ***** slap you to death.

Hugs and kisses

Amethyst

P.D. Thanks anyway bro, it’s the thought that counts. lol too bad that there isn't more people like you bashing noobies heads for speaking ****e and nicking terms they picked up from "the game"... I get lonely sometimes trying to mold them into real human beings, nice to know someone is out there doing the same thing as me.
