I think she realized she wanted to "fix" people like her mother..... only to realize you CAN'T. now she realizes she needed to be the best she can be and get the man who doesn't need to be fixed....

Marrying/dating a person like the parent who gave you the most trouble in childhood. So you have a chance as an adult to fix the problem you couldn't as a child...... fairly common. Make sure it doesn't happen to you
