"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

my opinion:

This wife is suffering from a form of hypergamy syndrome, in which a young, childless bride at the height of her sexual market value (SMV), upon finally finishing securing the husband, wonders if she had made the right decision, or if she had sold herself short. Because a newlywed wife does not get the level of attention that she used to get before the marriage, she no longer "feels" like she wants to stay in the marriage. Now this is something that women throughout the ages have felt, but the difference is back then, a woman who is divorced was considered to be a bad wife, and thus not desirable, and they knew it, and thus they stuck through with it; of course, back then, they quickly became pregnant, thus really having a drop in SMV. The situation now, however, is that men are so hard up that they accept poor wives, and thus childless, divorced wives do not have the stigma that they once had - and these women know it, and so they do not fear being unmarriageable; heck, even wifes with children divorce, but that's more due to the fact that divorced fathers generally don't have a problem with getting with a divorced mother, aside from the general leeriness toward marriage that a divorced man develops.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Look at how many times she says "I" in that article. Very telling.

Also note how the husband told her she was refusing to face up to her own issues.

Good thing that Im 31 and never married, apparently dodged a bullet

Anyway for some reason it comes natural to me to mentally associate marriage with taxes.

Something you dont really benefit from but somehow they try to convince you to or try to shame you if you make questions about it.

Most people get married to show off to their family and friends. Then they are SHOCKED when it doesn't work out.

If you get married when you're 25, you're asking for a divorce.

The comments on those Yahoo articles are surprisingly refreshing.

The first one (forty up votes, zero down votes):

As a mildly attractive, well-educated, single 33-year-old man, I meet this type of woman on a daily basis. So many first/last date conversations included:

"We got married in the most perfect setting ever,"

"We had an amazing honeymoon travelling Europe (that he financed because she does freelance work (no freelance work pays well nor steadily) and she was mad at him for reading/responding to emails???),"

"Everything wasn't perfect so I left him."

This princess syndrome appeared out of no where over the past 15 years (reality TV anyone?) and is destroying families. Thankfully she didn't have kids before deciding she was bored with him!

I understand there are many legitimate reasons for relationships to end. I have run into many of them (infidelity, finances, alcohol/drug abuse, and career paths have all ended relationships for me). But sometimes you just have to realize that you have a good life, a roof over your head, a (as this author hints at) wealthy spouse with a steady career, HE even suggested counseling to get you help (in this case). I feel bad for this husband!

Life isn't perfect. Most of it is painful and stressful and boring. It is not your significant other's responsibility to be the daily source of happiness in your life.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Reading that comment you posted above screams 'spiritual holocaust' to me. These woman have no inner life going on, they have no inner strength or resources with which to cope with the realities of life. Enter a bottle of red wine every night.

They are been completed extro-verted through full immersion in social media.

Still, if that is the norm, there are still some smart educated woman out there. Just getting harder to find them.
