Yep, during WWII they had to recruit women into the economy since most of the men were fighting. After the war, the women stayed there.
Personally, I'm thrilled with this vast societal change. I've never wanted to get married myself, and so the fact that women aren't as interested in it is music to my ears. This means they're more likely to f*ck without "commitment," and I'm not a committing type of guy.
I can't wait for the day when the roles are completely reversed. Men sitting home eating bon-bons on the couch while women slave away in dead-end jobs. I'm serious, I think that would be great.
The only way I'd marry is if it were some wealthy b*tch and I got to hang out by the pool all day and never work another day in my life. If you're going to bother hitching yourself to one chick for the rest of your life, you better hit a jackpot. Why else would you do it?

u will NEVER find a woman who gives you even 10% of the sort of freedom and money men give women/wives. it just aint IN them to be that generous to anyone but their kids, especially not an adult male, no matter HOW many billions of $ they are "worth".

Yup, I know it's come up pretty frequently of late, but traditional marriage was still a raw deal for men.
I remember a few years ago there was this rockabilly/hipster-chick I saw briefly. And she was selling herself to me as this horny hipster housewife. She had this vision of herself as a full-time housewife, doing all the housewifey things, i.e. cooking, cleaning, looking pretty for me, blowing me at the end of the day. She'd do a bit of seamstressing from home, but I'd basically be supporting both of us in this little fantasy. And I thought about this quite a bit, because no girl had ever offered me anything like that, but I decided that although novel, it was still a pretty sh!tty deal. I don't need anyone to do my housekeeping and cooking for me, and a FWB isn't going to cost me $30K/year. And that's assuming she was even capable of making good on any of this. No dice princess.
...Now it's coming back to me! She supposedly had some kind of chronic fatigue related "illness", so you can imagine how seriously I took her proposal. Did I mention she was still in and out of university at age 35? Now wonder she was trying to hook a breadwinner.
