Are women repulsed by disfigured veterans?

I was reading this, and it got me interested:

He ran a farm for much of the rest of his life, living alone, quietly, never marrying or having children. He lived to be 96, dying of natural causes in a veteran’s facility.

He's also a ShortCel, which obviously is an aggravating condition.

A few days ago I was talking to a friend and she told me about a guy that had written to her on a dating site. They were just about to meet up and then he warned her that he had a limp and asked if that would be a problem for her. She replied that she wasn't sure and he got angry and cancelled the date. Later he sent an angry message calling her shallow.

I felt kind of sorry for the guy, really. It's not nice to be turned down like that, especially for something that you're sensitive about. But of course both men and women are going to be less attracted to people with physical defects.

Alright... I have personal experience with this. I have some nasty scars from land mine, none of it is visible unless I'm wearing shorts or I am shirtless.

Some chicks are completely turned off by this... some love the scars. It all depends on the woman.

I believe the point is if the scar or the damage somehow prevents you from doing certain things or not...basically if it makes you weaker or not self reliant.

A visible cut scar on your forehead doesnt bother much since its just a visual thing but if you cant hold your fist thats a different story.
