I don't feel like anyone in the world can match a western in hypocrisy

The West is inhabited with human beings, like every corner of the globe... Said species revels in pointing fingers at "the bad people"(I.E. Anyone and everyone who behaves in a fashion they PERSONALLY find objectionable), yet isn't especially eager to engage in unflinching self-reflection, the likes of which often leads us to asking ourselves:

-"Is it that I'm more righteous than whoever it is I'm currently labeling The Villain, or do I see in them traits them traits that I myself possess?"

-"Does the mere thought of admitting out loud: "I'm no less guilty of the sins I find so offensive in the abstract" terrify me?"

-"Am I now dodging that existential thread by trying to wipe someone else out, instead of addressing my own sh-t?"

Westerns traditionally featured clean-cut, white-hatted, what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of heroes who stood up for all that is good and right..

The advent of the spaghetti Western brought us the more realistic anti-hero, who has darker motives and hypocrisy at his core
