This is a really good way to approach people when you don't have the conventional 'built in exuse' to approach someone, and you cant think of anything more witty.

BUT MAKE IT FUNNY, OFFBEAT, and RELEVANT.

A. Are you really as intelligent as you look? (sophisticated chick)

B. Did you really win the lottery and blow it all in one weekend?
(crazy gal)

C. Are you related to J-LO??(exotic type)

D. Are you a country girl trapped in a city girl body?(girl next door)

E. Do you eat krispy kreme donuts secretly?(thin girl)

F. Do you have a secret you want to tell me? (daring approach)

G. Are you wearing false teeth,,,or anything else?(if she looks like she can take a joke)

SEE? You've got ****y, funny, intelligence, and witty all in one.

I like it, but let's keep it to ourselves

this is a good idea, but if everyone starts using
it, it will become cliche

I've done that before (thinking up the idea myself). Use it at a party and be outrageous. Results will be good, but it's sort of a "trick".
