"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Two approaches today (one of them attempted).

The first was at the rehab facility where my mother is recuperating from surgery- I kid you not, my own mom is kidding me about my sarging activities at the joint, but I've got numbers and interest from a few quarters.

Anyway, my mom, sis, and I were at the cafe when a pretty and very classy aide wheels in (as in, wheelchair) her charge. I made smalltalk with her at the counter and quickly felt my blood and other pressures rise.

It was a distracting situation, a lot going on, but she and I made a point of exchanging some brief words every time I walked by, so I did some extra "walking".

Now I'm sitting at the table with family and classy lady (Inca/Spanish blood)
is a few tables away waiting for her food and I realize she will leave when it arrives. I make a decision right then, get up, walk to the door and wiggle my finger for her to join me in the hallway. She nervously gets up, tells her charge to wait (he's in a wheelchair, remember?) and joins me. I tell her I want to see her. She's good- in ten seconds we handle all the "is she your wife-no she's my sister- are you single- I'm separated- what are we doing- just meeting to chat- I like you" stuff- she relaxes and smiles-

She walks back in, gets her food, says hi to my family, and says goodbye to me, "bye Juando". One more number.

(women are interesting; later, my sister tells me that before the #close happened, Inca lady spoke to my sis, thinking she was my wife, and sis said she communicated in way so as to say, "I'm not hitting on your man").

In contrast, tonight I went for a walk to see if Sarah the hostess I did NOT number close a few days ago was working.
This girl was very pretty, very friendly, went out of her way to get me some info about an herb I was curious about (not that one).
I did not number close her that night. Why? Becasue I was with my brother in law, the place was jammed, blah blah. Real reason:
I was an IDIOT.
I really got that tonight, because as I got close to the place I started to get really anxious, nervous, and mindfukking with myself about going in and talking to her. IDIOT.
I am famous for "salvage" approaching, coming back and salvaging approaches that SHOULD have happened when the picking was ripe but did not for some lame excuses. I GET IT: NO MATTER HOW HARD AN APPROACH LOOKS AT THE MOMENT IT WILL BE INFINITELY HARDER LATER, IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE.

She was not there, off for the night. Saved by the schedule.
I will go back soon, face my idiocy and see what I can salvage. Lesson learned.

The three second rule is golden. Sometimes I practice it without hardly being conscious of it. Wait 3.0000000001 seconds and it's OVER. HARD. MENTAL. UPSTREAM. The gurus are right, say ANYTHING.

New York is a great place to practice approaching, especially if you are alone, no support, just you and a sea of puzzy streaming by you at 100 mph.

It will make a man out of you.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
